Being an Omaha resident, the Old Market is a popular area to visit. It has lots of bars, places to eat, shops, etc. Good place to go for a night out.

We went to a restaurant named Stokes in the Old Market and it was wonderful, kind of a southwest Mexican cuisine with a great wine selection.

The Old Market is a must visit when in Omaha. If you can stay within walking distance, all the better to enjoy the restaurants and bars. Some of the shopping is not as unique as it used to be, but still some nice shops. The Underground Passage is fun. More art galleries are popping up in the area, so check brochures.

Nice little old-fashioned area of downtown Omaha, similar to Quincy Market in Boston. Lots of shops and boutiques, interesting dining options, and bars. Covers both family interests and upscale fine dining.

One huge downside is parking. Omaha really misses the boat by not closing off those charming bricked streets and allowing expanded space for cafes al fresco dining and drinking. It's a shame and they should add that to be more in line with big cities.
