“Relaxed atmosphere & freshly cooked food!”

Whilst passing through Omaha on a recent trip to the States. I had the pleasure of sitting out front of this restaurant to enjoy a home cooked style meal, good wine & cocktails all at a very reasonable price.

“Has seating when others have waits is a sign.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

Waitress was rude, not accommodating to my two toddlers that I was already having to deal with at lunch time. Food was average. At least we didn't have to wait to be seated, that's the only part that was nice, besides the decor is beautiful.

“Great sides but average entrees”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

This place had a good selection of foods. We were able to get a table for 9 without a wait.

Their Gouda Mac 'n Cheese was awesome! Blue cheese mashed potatoes were also very good! I ordered a salad and added salmon and it was just okay...mostly lettuces but the ranch dressing was good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak but was not impressed. Some at my table loved the fried pickles but they weren't really up my alley! 2 at our table ordered Blood Mary's and loved them.

Service was accommodating but slow.

“Did not live up to expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and the menu on view outside when we were walking around the Old Market area of Omaha. Though a busy Saturday night, service was fast and friendly and by the time we were half way through our meal the restaurant was half empty. The food was just okay, nothing to write home about; we tried what transpired to be a bit of a regional “delicacy” called Chicken Fried Bacon that was basically Streaky Bacon covered in Breadcrumbs and deep fried then served with some lettuce and thick “white gravy”! It was actually pretty tasty and for British readers, the term “Chicken Fried” would appear to pertain to a variety of meats (usually cheap cuts of steak or bacon) that are covered in a breadcrumb coating and deep fried. I had the Roast Beef Dinner which to be honest reminded me of the boil in the bag beef of TV dinner fame, together with disappointingly lumpy mashed potatoes. The others had Chicken Fried Steak (not great, appeared to be reformed meat not unlike hamburger) and Mac and Cheese, which was the best of the dishes. We would not rush back.

“Pretty Good - Chicken Fried Overdose LOL”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

I had dinner here with a group of friends and overall it was good. The Chicken Fried Pickles with Black Pepper Horseradish Dip (not spicy) was the standout item for me - SOOOOO YUM!! I also had the chicken fried bacon (overrated) and the chicken fried steak - pretty good. Also had a couple of Malibu Bay Breezes (had to tell the waiter what they were, but he was a young kid, so no biggie) Overall a good spot - not great but group consensus was that it was very good.
