We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews and the menu on view outside when we were walking around the Old Market area of Omaha. Though a busy Saturday night, service was fast and friendly and by the time we were half way through our meal the restaurant was half empty. The food was just okay, nothing to write home about; we tried what transpired to be a bit of a regional “delicacy” called Chicken Fried Bacon that was basically Streaky Bacon covered in Breadcrumbs and deep fried then served with some lettuce and thick “white gravy”! It was actually pretty tasty and for British readers, the term “Chicken Fried” would appear to pertain to a variety of meats (usually cheap cuts of steak or bacon) that are covered in a breadcrumb coating and deep fried. I had the Roast Beef Dinner which to be honest reminded me of the boil in the bag beef of TV dinner fame, together with disappointingly lumpy mashed potatoes. The others had Chicken Fried Steak (not great, appeared to be reformed meat not unlike hamburger) and Mac and Cheese, which was the best of the dishes. We would not rush back.
