On a bend in the Rhone, with a lovely patio for drinks or dining al fresco. Beware, however, it is sometimes too cold to sit outside, as the mistral wind comes down the Rhone from the Alps. A perfect spot to base in Northern Rhone. The dining room is more upscale than you would think, the food good, and the service, both in the dining room and the front desk welcoming. All that keeps it from the highest rating is the quality of the rooms, themselves. They could use a good refresh for today's travelers. The rooms are quaint, clean and pretty, but less efficient than I would like wi-fi is spotty with an awkward sign-on system, the desks (such as they are) small and more for decor than work, and the outlets are not convenient.

We made an overnight stop between the Costa Blanca and Midlands; its a great location and about half way along our route. The scenery is wonderful by the river. The room we had was clean and confortable and we had an evening meal at the hotel. Overall really enjoyed our stay

We were having a reunion with friends from Paris and Lyon (20 minutes away) and decided a peaceful riverside retreat away from the bustle of the city would be a nice place to meet. When we arrived and met our friends, we upgraded to a Rhone riverfront suite with a two balconies one which was a sunroom, spacious bathrooms. Suite 10. Well worth it, had plenty of room for all of us, amazing views, spacious, with sitting room and two balconies, very modern amenities with old world charm. Very clean, service was friendly and impeccable. The restaurant was just a amazing. Chef Ludovic Mounier is world class. His culinary offerings and talent is exceptional. You will be sure to have a lifetime memory after a stay at Beau Rivage. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Well worth it to pay extra for a riverfront suite with balcony. We stayed in #10. Two large balcon...

Forgive the flippant title but I couldn't resist the play on words. Situated on the bank of the Rhone with viognier vineyards tumbling down the steep hillsides towards it, this is an idyllic setting. Outwardly the hotel has an almost Germanic feel to it architecturally but, once inside, this was a classic, luxury French hotel. Our suite, complete with balcony overlooking the river, was superb. A bottle or two of Condrieu on the patio was the perfect start to our stay. Dinner in the somewhat too formal restaurant was outstanding. We plumped for game dishes and my wife's wild boar was nothing short of sensational. Venison and hare didn't disappoint either. Overall a wonderful hotel with a great restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful especially our waiter in the evening but one couldn't help but feel that a slightly more informal approach would add a layer of intimacy to the hotel its situation merits. Highly recommended!!!

Room Tip: Gotfor a room with a view of the river...it's the hotel's raison d'etre1

What a fine this hotel is. We sat for one whole day in the garden listening to the water and seeing boats pass by and just enjoying the quiet and have any stress wash away. we had lunch on the patio and took a walk to the town. The setting is so beautiful and our room overlooked the water. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. Just ask and the chef can prepare anything. The beds are very comfortable and all your wishes are taken care of.

Room Tip: Our room was very quiet and I think all the rooms are that way

We stayed for one night on our trip South and it was perfect as always. We chose to have Suite 5 which is on the front overlooking the river. The evening meal was delicious and we were fortunate to have one of the best tables again looking right over the river. My starter was a delicious carpaccio of melon and mozzarella and ham then beef fillet with a little glass dome on top where they smoke the thyme, served with the smoothest mashed potato with truffle oil topped off with tiny edible flowers. The chocolate dessert was also beautifully presented with little sugared toppings. All of course washed down with some of the local wine of the area. It never fails to deliver a great stay.

Room Tip: Suite 5 has a huge bed with separate sitting room and balcony overlooking the Rhone, A separate loo...

We stayed one night on our way to Provence, The room was excellent with the best linens and a very comfortable bed. We ate in the dining room and were surprised by excellence of the food and the attentive but not smothering service. They had a huge selection of choice cheeses. The staff was friendly and helpful and could speak English. There are interesting Roman ruins nearby. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling through this area.
