We arrived late and had not booked but the owner could not have been more accommodating, he even gave up his personal parking space in front of the restaurant so we could park. The service was charming and very professional and the food was exquisite, Art on a plate. We have been there twice now and intend to go back for any special occasion.

Two years previously we had visited this restaurant on the recommendation of Pont Royal Golf Hotel and had been more than imressed. This year we were determined to make the same pilgrimage but the meal was no more than average. Mallemort is a faceless village and, in order to savour its best cuisine - be prepared for a long hike. Parking is in a large square near the Pharmacy and then its walk, walk, walk uphill and uphill. The restaurant is difficult to find and so you need directions, flat shoes and a wrap as the wind closes in, even on summer evenings. Not much English is spoken, be prepared to wait and to pay quite a lot for what you get. All in all we were disappointed but, there is not too much in the area, so it may be the best to settle for in the area.

Le Patron is a great host and showman. The lamb was cooked to perfection and so tasty. The ambiance is Provencal rustic. What more can one wish for!

We love the Auberge, and the people who run it. I've been there three times, and look forward to going back again.
