Mas de la Romane
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We are just back from Mas de la Romane where we spent such a great 1st vacation with our 3 months old child. We want to thank Christine, the owner, who was really friendly. She made us feel like home! Her house is a traditional "mas" fully renovated and decorated with a very subtle and personal way. This is a very quiet BnB with only 2 rooms available for guests. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the beautiful and large garden. The location is perfect to discover the Provence and Luberon with nearby traditional villages like l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes, Bonnieux, Ménerbes... We look forward our next trip at Mas de la Romane!

Room Tip: Two rooms available, one on the ground floor, the other on the 1st floor.

Mas de la Romane is a beautiful farmhouse set in a wonderful location in Provence. The house and the decor are amazing, but the best thing is how welcome you are made to feel by the family. Even a loud party on our first night and an even louder thunderstorm on our second night wasn't enough to spoil our stay.

Breakfast is a fantastic home-made continental affair, outside if the weather is good enough. There is a nice pool to relax in and the town is beautiful, and if you enjoy shopping for homewares or antiques you will be in heaven. C'est formidable!

Mas De La Romane is truely dreamy, we spent one week there in the downstairs room with use of the kitchen and it was one of our best holidays. Christine is a gem, who really looks after you and creates wonderful breakfasts! The decor is beautiful, the room is a good size and the pool is refreshing after a long day out discovering.

We travelled around the area during our week and saw some beautiful villages and towns, thanks to Christine supplying maps and booklets for us.

We will hopefully go back in the near future...

We spent a wonderful week here in June. The location is ideal - in a quiet bucolic setting yet close to the activity of L'Isle sur la Sorque. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast in the garden. The weather was delightful, the flowers in bloom, and the birds were chirping. We were close to the many outstanding places to see in this area.
Christine is a terrific hostess and was helpful in suggesting places to visit. Our upstairs bedroom was very comfortable and overlooked the garden. The decor was delightful and typical "Provence style." We would definitely return here and we highly recommend Mas de la Romane.

I have been staying here for years and can highly recommend this wonderful place. Just down the road from Isle sur Sorgue for when one wants some action, Christine has created a haven of peace amidst the apple orchard, the pool and beautiful flowers, olive trees and large garden. The two rooms en suite are tastefully done, the kitchen area and garden table allows for lovely meals. The beds very comfortable and the breakfast with home made jams is the icing on the cake. You will not go wrong by choosing La Romane and you will come back I am sure. Hasta luego Christine

We had a wonderful stay here in July. We stayed 4 nights and were delighted with the charm of the place as well as the charm of our lovely hostess, Christine. One of the fondest memories of our 2 week trip throughout France was sitting in a chair on the lawn and being serenaded by the "cicadas provencales." I even recorded them on my phone. Christine's breakfast were delightful with the freshly baked croissants, home made jam, home made yoghurt and local fruits. In addition the presentation was lovely with beautiful linens and interesting dishes. Her warm and inviting personality is reflected in the decor - which would fit under the trendy "shabby chic" description. From the notebook she showed us, she changes the decor frequently and keeps up with what is current at the time. She did our laundry for a nominal fee delivering it with each piece (even underwear) ironed and a wand of lavender on top. We are still talking about that!!!! The only drawback for some might be her lack of fluency in English but with her minimal English and my minimial French we got by. The location is very central for Provence - making it easy to do day trips - close to Avignon but without the bustle and bother of a city. We enjoyed the company of a delightful couple from Belgium while staying here, eating breakfast together, sharing plans for the day and then meeting back again in the evening to discuss the day's adventures. A very pleasant stay!!!!
