The garden is very pleasant - and ideal for, say, children to roam in between courses without causing disturbance. Our meal was adequate, but without choice it is pot-luck. Presentation was certainly no more than average. Tiramisu in a glass. Yeah!? We *know* you can put it into a glass. No other ideas? Fair enough, but for it then to be priced not much below Le Vivier, where you can get choice, stunning presentation, and inventive imagination, is not right. Maybe Le Vivier is priced too low. Anyway, go there instead!

Don't be discouraged by a rather strange location- by the train station. Although it's by the train station, it is hidden in an amazing old style garden, with little fountains, beautiful plants and flowers. I would say it is 'mysterious', romantic and classy. There are tables outside, so you are actually having your dinner in this beautiful garden.
The food: if you like multiple dishes on your menu, don't go. It has a set menu dinner, so you don't have a choice. But the food is exceptional and fresh. And that's because they only have a few dishes!
Service is smooth and very kind.
If you don't like the tackiness of a 'main street' restaurants, go to this one. Be careful- it's really good :)

So good the first time that we went again the next night and took friends with us. It's a fixed menu so you don't get to choose your food, which I rather like. Takes away the decision-making. Tables are in the garden so the setting is delightful. The wine waiter knows his wines, so ask him to guide you if you are unsure. My only slight niggle is that on the second night they were very busy and we had to keep reminding the two young waiters that we were still waiting to be served, for our wine to be brought.........and for dessert they brought a frangipane tart topped with raspberries and a scoop of mango icecream - which in my mind was more of an afternoon tea tartlet. Lashings of whipped cream might have offset the sticky-dryness of the ground almond tart filling.
This aside, Le Jardin du Quai is the place to go for fabulous food. We paid EU43/head (excluding wine) and for this we were brought appetiser, entree, bouche amuse, main and desert. Not bad at all.
