“Good value for money”
Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

After our visit to L'Isle sur la Sorgue we stopped by this restaurant following the Michelin guide 2013. We were early and the first ones in the resto. Tables were nicely prepared on the terrace. We tried the menu of 32 Euros with amuse bouches, first course, main course and dessert. The quality was good and valie for money was absolutely there. After an hour we still were alone in the resto which is not a good sign. After some investigation we saw that both the Michelin guide as well as the website were mentioning that the restaurant is closed on Tuesday evenings, but we were there and it was open...basically it felt like a private cooking. All in all we enjoyed, however some more people around would have been more joyfull. I truely believe that this restois much better than most of the tourist traps down town L'Isle.

“A true typical and fine provencal cuisine”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

I just had lunch in this nice restaurant in "magnifique" Isle sur la Sorgue/Provence. The couple who recently overtook the restaurant are very charming and welcoming, they do know their job and are passionate. The chef Fabrice Amar make a true and generous provençal cuisine (fantastic mushrooms for the fall, a, excellent guinea fowl)tasty fresh, and he even explains you where he buys the vegetables, fish, meat.
This restaurant needs to be known as quite secluded and the resume of the chef is quite amazing too. he worked with three michelin chefs.
The decor is provencal and for the summer time a swimming pool is available too.

“Just Awful”

The food tries too hard and misses the mark terribly. Although not expensive, you wil feel you have wasted a meal.

“NEW OWNERS !!!”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Last june 2012 we went to L'oustau de l'Isle.
Before starting our holiday we bought the last edition of Guide du Routard Provence 2012 and Bonnes Petites Tables du Guide Michelin 2012. L'Oustau de l'Isle had a good reviuw in both ...... BUT ....... From the start I felt something was not correct. We waited for olmost one hour to receive apero and starter. I noticed the interior was not as mentionned in the Routard
I asked at the desk, and the lady from the house, whose man is chef cuisine, confirmed that they where the new owners since begin 2012!!!
We were disappointed, we even cancelled the dessert and coffee. We mentionned it to the lady of the house who wanted to offer us a coffee, we didn't accept.
Cuisine gastronomique: no way!! Chef Sylvain Bourlet was gone.
So don't follow the recent guide Michelin to this address !!!

“Outstanding cooking hidden away”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

We spent a month in France in several regions. our dinner at L'Oustau de L'Isle was was one the two best meals we had during the whole month. Extremely creative variations on standards; for example, the melon gazpacho with jambon rillettes was ambrosial. Everything was so good and the hostess, wife of the chef, could not have been nicer. When I asked for the recipe, the chef gave it to me. Warm, friendly atmosphere away from the noise of the center of L'Isle sur la Sorgue.
