“A real gem at Provence”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Veronique and Thierry are the perfect host and offer a cozy house in Provence. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was the best way to start the day and most of all, Veronique and Thierry are a lovely, fan, generous and caring hosts.
We enjoyed very much our staying at Le-clos-des-sorgues and hope to be there again some day.

We were looking for a location near Avignon and close to visiting the small towns and markets east of Avignon. Well we found it. It has only been open 1 year. Le Clos des Sorgues made our trip very special. Here are the reasons we enjoyed it so much.
First is the location. We were near all the villages that we wanted to visit. The location is perfect. We visited Avignon, and with Thierry"s help parked directly next to the Palace of the Popes. We even visited Pont du Gard and Les Beau, which was not far. We also visited Gourdes and all the other villages mentioned in books. They were all very close to this location.
Secondly, the farm house. There are 4 guestrooms all in a private setting. This house is perfectly renovated with rain showers and lovely decor that is just how we imagined it to be. In fact, the Web site does not do it justice. It is far prettier. There is a pool and private sitting areas outside your door all in a gorgeous setting. The kitchen is the perfect Provence room to enjoy a meal. The breakfasts are huge. They served an American breakfast with sunny side up eggs, pancakes, French breads with delicious jams, cheese and butter. Anything one would like to eat. Food is served at a very long open table all in the Provence style. At evening there was wine on the patio to review your day. They also made restaurant reservations for us to complete the day.
Next are the owners, Thierry and Veronica! No one could be better hosts than this couple! They enjoy people and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. They speak English well, give maps and help you plan your days so that you will not miss anything. They are like family! They are better than any tour guides one could find. After a day of touring, on our return they break open the wine with some appitizers and chat to see how your day went. We even played Pintonu, a French game tossing these balls, trying to hit this marker, which was fun after a few drinks. No words are kind enough to express our fondness for them. They helped make our 3 day stay turn into 5 days. We hated to leave. It was a wonderful experience.

Perfectly located 15 minutes from Avignon and within close proximity to the most idyllic villages, Le Clos des Sorgues is a perfect country B & B. Thierry and Veronique are the most thoughtful of hosts and go out of their way to ensure your stay is the best it can be, they provide a beautiful breakfast and assistance with planning your day if required. The rooms are huge with very modern bathroom and private terrace - watching the sunrise is magical. The only difficult part is leaving!

The location is excellent: 15-40 minutes from many interesting and beautiful places. The place is a converted farmhouse protected by a wall and an electric gate (with remote control). The bedroom and bathroom are very comfortable. Everything is new and of very high quality with a touch of old style furniture. The hosts are very helpful with a variety of suggestions about where to go, what to do, where to eat, and how to get there. A splendid base for a vacation in Provence/

Thierry and Veronique provided not only a lovely series of breakfasts for us and accomodation in a very spacious, clean room with a great bathroom, but also provided very useful guidance on where to eat and sites to see around the local area.

Le Clos Des Sorgues is wonderfully calm, peaceful and inviting, we would highly recommend it.

A small piece of heaven on earth. Veronique and Thierry are such excellent hosts, and the place hits 100% on practically any count you can imagine.
Everything at Le Clos des Sorgues is brand new. The rooms are superbly decorated, the bathroom so well designed, the beds incredibly comfortable, sheets crisp and lovely, the a/c works impeccably and everything with a great attention to detail, too.
The breakfast is the best you could ever want with home made jams from their own garden, fresh fruit, eggs, great bread and croissants or pain au chocolate - and each day a little extra something, too.
The garden is well kept allowing for a great setting if you are simply relaxing outside your room enjoying the view and listening to the cicadas - the pool is clean, beautiful and at the right temperature (meaning a bit above what you usually find).
We simply loved the place and will most certain come back to visit.
