We found out about The Coffee Cup through the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives website. We stopped there for breakfast on our drive from Vegas to Flagstaff, and enjoyed it enough that we made sure we stopped there for lunch on the way back four days later.

The Pork Chili Verde Omelette that was featured on the show was excellent. It didn't look so great because of the green sauce, but man did it taste good!

This is an old-fashioned diner with eclectic stuff all over the walls that keeps you entertained while waiting for your food. Highly recommend eating here!

I live in Boulder City and like the Coffee Cup for it's good food and reasonable prices. But a "World Famous Coffee Shop"? Please!

Here's their website: http://www.worldfamouscoffeecup.com/

If you are old enough to remember Sandy Nelson and his hits "Let There Be Drums" and "Teen Beat," you can probably meet him as he lunches at the counter every day at around 1pm. His photos and albums are on the wall. He was one of the first with "surf music" in the early 60's. He's friendly and likes to talk to his fans.

I rarely get to the Coffee Cup anymore because of their early hours (closes at 2pm, which I think is ridiculous ... it leaves BC with little but fast food or expensive food after 2pm).

And if you're looking for the best cup of coffee in BC, go to the Burger King (corner of 93 & Buchanan, right next to Starbucks, and right BEHIND the town's garish moving sign) - SUPERB and INEXPENSIVE coffee , FREE internet, SOFT music, and NON-freezing A/C! If you prefer the OPPOSITE of all those attributes, go to the Starbucks next door.

We stopped here for a quick lunch when driving from Vegas to the Hoover Dam. We arrived in the middle of the lunchtime rush and the place was packed but we were still seated within 10 minutes. The staff were friendly and attentive, a few reviews have complained about the service but we thought it was great...if you want to be waited on hand and foot perhaps go to a michelin starred establishment rather than a busy diner! The food was delicious, especially the fries. My partner had a burger and said it was one of the best burgers he'd ever had. It was excellent value for money.

So ok, I've read some reviews that say this cafe is one of the world's greatest experiences...I'm not sure what worlds those folks were living on, but my teenage daughter and I stopped at the Coffee Cup after a blazing hot day at Hoover Dam and were sorely disappointed. Maybe we just ordered wrong.... We started with the warm cinnamon rolls which, while tasty, couldn't hold a candle to other cinnamon rolls we've had. The dough was pasty and light and lacked the heft that a good homemade cinnamon roll should have. From there we ordered a tuna melt and a side of bacon, based again on prior reviews. While the fries were superb - crispy and not oily, the tuna melt was a disaster. The tuna was full of mayonnaise and was tasteless. The cook slathered even more mayonnaise on the thick, doughy slices of sourdough bread, the result of which made for a goopy, doughy, pitiful excuse for a tuna melt. We ate a few bites and quickly ate the french fries, leaving the goopy, bready sandwich behind. The bacon was another disaster. The first plate our server brought us was actually burned. LIke charred and black; yet she served it to us anyway. Since the server never checked on us after she delivered our food, after waiting 15 minutes, my daughter had to get up and take the bacon across the room to ask her for another plate. Our server quickly brought us another plate, this time still well done but not burnt, but the bacon itself was so salty that we ate a few bites and again, left the rest with the uneaten tuna melt. The whole meal, save the fries, was a disappointing mess. The bathrooms were old and dirty, and we experienced none of the friendliness that others wrote about, in fact, for most of the meal we were ignored. Perhaps it was because we sat down at 1:30 and they were closing at 2? Or perhaps we should have stuck with the breakfast items that others seemed to be enjoying. Maybe they were just having a bad day? Whatever it was, I can hardly recommend this little diner. There are other places in Boulder City worth a try. I'd skip the Coffee Cup.

If you pass by this place without dropping in, then you have missed one f the world's greatest experiences. Seriously. If you ca, time your visit in the the morning - if not, just have breakfast. Amazing menu full of spice and flavour. Seriously friendly people and great atmosphere. Chili verde, huevos rancheros, Bloody Mary, order it all and share! Good black coffee too...
