I vacationed in Las Vegas over the holidays and even though it was more chilly than expected, I came prepared as Les, the owner of Boulder City River Riders had prepped us regarding the weather and how best to dress for our adventure. I was very impressed with the knowledge of our guide and I felt safe, even though I'm a beginner kayaker and I don't swim well. The banks along the river are just gorgeous and the water was calm for this time of year. All in all, we had a perfect river "adventure" and we were tired at the end if the day. We went away knowing a lot about local history and we are far better paddlers than before our trip. I highly recommend Boulder City River Riders for any skill level. The added touches, such as having the group's coffee paid for and getting a brand new canteen featuring their logo was amazing!
Thanks to the guys at Boulder City River Riders, we'll see you in 2016.

Les picked us up right on time. Scott was our guide for the trip. They were both great, very friendly and knowledgable and put us at ease. The decription is exactly what we received. We had never kayaked before. It was very easy to learn and alot of fun. We got to experience the sauna cave and the hot springs. We also got to see periodot and emerald caves. Scott took pictures for us during the trip and Les emailed them to us after. The lunch they provided was really tasty too. It was a wonderful day! If you are ready for the outdoors and a little bit of physcial activity, then you should absolutely take a kayak tour with Boulder City River Riders.

We got picked up in the morning and provided with a lunch pack and plenty of water. We then met our guide, Mike, who was there just for the two of us. He would also take pictures with his water-proof camera and mail them to us afterwards. Mike was friendly and knowledgable, with lots of humor. We were shown several caves, dived into the Colorado, were explained birds and plants and other wildlife, were educated about geology and geography, got to know a great deal about history. Mike more or less saved a member of another operator's group from drowning and fixed a hole in the kayak of yet another operator's group. So to wrap up, this guy was worth the money compared with the (lack of) service you get with other operators, which are significantly cheaper.

This was an amazing trip and definitely the highlight of our trip to Las Vegas. Scott was our knowledgeable, chill, and all-round perfect guide. Our trip started almost immediately with an incredible walk through a pitch black cave to a natural sauna, finding our way with only touch to guide us, followed by a jump into the chilly river. Initiated, we were ready to be a part of the river for the rest of the day. We made further stops at hot springs, with breathtaking views, soothing soaks and tucks into caves (with some kayak maneuvering tips from Scott). Scott was full of knowledge of how the canyons were formed and all the local wildlife and history. It was a perfect day with a nice current that allowed us to practically float down the river. Definitely bring a waterproof camera and wear quick-dry clothing and a sun hat.

Les picked us up from our hotel at 7am and we made the trek up to the dam. It was perfect! Since it is winter, we had the river almost to ourselves! Mike was our guide, and at 22 years old he already had 6 years of experience as a guide! You could tell he enjoyed what he was doing, and showed us many spots we never would have found on our own! The lunch was amazing - we would HIGHLY recommend doing this trip -
