“Worth a visit”

We did just the regular afternoon cruise that's 90 minutes. You get a really nice picture of you and your party before you board for 20 bucks if you want it..comes with a smaller 5x7 that's in a magnet frame. There's a full grill and bar on board. Sit up on the third deck if you can because it's definitely the best view. If you get there early like we did, there's a group of ducks and fish that will come up to you as you walk up. Hang out there for a few minutes and there will be a whole bunch of them!

“Good idea, terrible execution.”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

The area is beautiful but the cruise experience was quite poor. The food service was substandard and, on two separate occasions, our experience was interrupted by unprofessional and unpleasant staff interactions. If you are considering this trip, be prepared to be herded like cattle and handled harshly.

“Delightful Way To Spend a Couple Hours”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

You will need to pay a $10.00, per car, entrance fee to the National Park folks at the entrance gate first. It is valid for 7 days.
We went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and took the 2pm cruise. They give a 25% locals discount and also a 15% military discount, so be sure to ask for it, if either of these 2 apply to you and your party.

The parking lot and road leading to it are unpaved. Check in building, where you purchase your tickets has clean restrooms. You can buy some simple souvenirs there and postcards. Fresh popcorn, beer, soda, ice cream, etc.

They want to take your photo before you go onto the boat, so they can sell it to you later. We said no thank but the woman was quite persistent. Told us some bogus line that it is part of the boarding process. Still, no thank and we got on the boat. A lot of other folks said no to her too.

The entire boat was very clean. Ample seating on 3 levels with some inside, where they serve dinner(on that type of cruise). A small bar and snack shop. The bar does a good business, for sure. And, the drinks were very good.

We departed about 15 minutes late. There is a pre-recorded narration, almost the entire trip. It would have been very nice just to have some "quiet". But, you learn about the entire area and what you are seeing. The boat goes rather slow and the actual distance of the cruise is quite short.

Beautiful mountain scenery and then you turn the corner and see the backside of Hoover Dam. Very nice. You take the same route back. Honestly, we expected to go farther but we had an enjoyable time and I think most others did too. It lasts about one hour & 30 minutes, or so.

I can recommend this to you easily.

“Fantastic views”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

If your looking for something away from the casinos relax and take a 90 minute cruise on Lake Mead and enjoy the views and the history of Lake Mead. Don't forget to bring your camera and if you read this review you might want to check on the 2 for 1 rate @ the Boulder Visitor center which another reviewer mentioned and we didn't take advantage of.

My family and I went on the dinner cruise and found it to be beautiful. I had my children who were 4 and 5 years old and they got to drive the boat and received honorary captains certificates and were announced over the loud speaker for all to acknowledge them. I wish it were a little longer though as you are running up for the view and back down for the next course of the meal. There isn't really much time to just take in the beautiful view and sunset. Overall I really enjoyed this experience and would do it again!!
