Since we were in the area, we wanted to get this landmark done, but felt very underwhelmed. It was still cool to see, but had higher expectations as it’s a landmark that is talked about a lot.

The Hoover Dam is awesome.
The interpretation centres have displays to see how it was built.
It’s a nice visit and reasonably priced.
A must see if your in the area

Great views. Great information. Amazing story. Check out the Free Museum in Boulder City at the old hotel. Really good. Our group took lots of pics and really enjoyed the scenery. Kids might find it a bit boring. Lots of walking.

Very spectacular attraction wish I was able to take the tour of the dam. When we left Las Vegas we flew over the dam and it is more spectacular from the air than the ground.

As we entered the area, we were told there were no tours that day because an elevator was down. We were then directed into the paid parking garage. Our bad, we didn't realize we could use lots across the dam for free. Anyway, it truly is magnificent, overwhelming, awe-inspiring. Glad we visited-great visitor center.

From what I was told, the tour is shorter due to security concerns, thats life. Impressive to see. Get there early or late as it does get crowded. Wonderful views and some of the pictures that I posted gotten more likes than some from Alaska.

Great attraction. Bit on the busy side most times. Some elements closed but no advance warning. Staff very helpful.

A hadn't been here in twenty years. Its the same damn dam it was when I was last here in 1998! Albeit with a newer bridge built over the river below the dam.

Arriving at sunset, we were unaware that the dam's visitor areas and parking lots closed at 6pm and the road was blocked off right after you cross. Therefore, we couldn't cross as we had planned, loop up around and then come back over the newer bridge that's in front of the dam's face, to get a good view.

There was a small parking lot right after you cross over into Arizona where you could get out and walk down to the top of the dam. Views not as ideal as those from the closed visitor center areas along the road facing the front of the dam, where you come through on Nevada side.

For tourists who have taken advantage of Nevada legal Marijuana shops, beware that possession of even the tiniest amount of weed in Arizona is a felony. Yes, a felony charge!

These days, there are vehicle stops and searches at police operated security points on both sides of the bridge before you cross. Don't legally buy Marijuana in Nevada and accidentally get caught in possession in Arizona after you've crossed the dam and are coming back to Nevada when encounter a police checkpoint. It's unlikely you'd be caught, but it possible. Especially, if you roll up to one on the Arizona side and your car reeks of Cannabis.

A Felony charge for a stupid oversight could really ruin a Las Vegas vacation.

Truly awe inspiring! Over the years we have watched many documentaries about the dam and its construction. It was something special to see it in person. We hoped to take the longer Hoover Dam Tour, but it was not running due to maintenance, etc. Even our Power Plant Tour was abbreviated, but we did experience some parts of the structure. There are several areas to explore at the top of the dam...small museums, outside monuments, gift shop, cafe. We arrived early so the parking garage wasn't full and the line for the tours was just forming. There is no pre-buy option. First come first served. I imagine it is very hot to walk around and up on the bridge most times of the year, suggest water and a hat.

We stayed top side and were able to walk both sides of the dam, plus drive over it. The views are wonderful. We didn't do the tour inside the dam - and others have stated the restrictions. $10 parking fee, nice gift shop. The drive to the dam was a great as the tour! Worth seeing!
