Hotel was wonderful. Clean well cooled rooms, quiet and well maintained pool, and the nicest staff you could ever wish for. Right from the start everyone was so friendly and helpful going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Thanks El Rancho Boulder for a fantastic vacation!

Room Tip: First trip but room was great

Arrived 3pm and checked in by unsmiling woman. Rooms clean, and no issues. Pool huge and much time spent there. Boulder city excellent for hoover dam or (as we were) returning to vegas and didnt want to spend last night in pricey motel on outskirts of town. Went to Italian place for dinner (the next street almost, near the greek place) and it was EXCELLENT food.

How may negatives are there. No coffee in the room. They do not even have cheap morning plastic wrap pastry for the road. The smallest refrigerator and microwave I ever saw. A 20 year old small CRT TV. The shampoo and soap are in bulk dispensers. And, when you make a reservation you have to cancel at least three days in advance or they charge you the full rate. In addition, the room rate is about twice what it should be given the amenities. When I was there; the parking lot had about four cars in it. This is a declining motel with old furniture and carpet. It smells like the carpet has been in the rooms for 15 years. The positive reviews on this place have got to have been submitted by the owners friends and family.

There is a Hotel Boulder City that I have yet to stay at. It is a couple of $ more, but looks much nicer and has better reviews. That will be my choice next time.

We spent one night at El Rancho Boulder Motel. For about $90, we got a room with two queen beds and a kitchenette. The room was old and dated looking and the beds were a little flat, but it was otherwise fine. It had a big bathroom and closet, which we put to good use as we were on day 1 of a 10 day trip with lots of luggage. The room was very quiet, never heard any of our neighbors.

The lady at the front desk let us leave our cooler and food there while we went to Hoover Dam, even though we checked out of the room that morning. We were afraid all of our food would melt in the 100+ weather.

We stayed at El Rancho on a roadtrip and it's is a great little motel with a real charm to it. It's in an ideal location, a short drive from Hoover Dam and Lake Mead (and also Vegas). Boulder City itself is quiet, but has enough choice of bars and eateries to satisfy most tastes, many within walking distance - the motel doesn't offer food, but do put on coffee in the morning. The staff are polite and helpful, giving us a map of the town and pointing out places to eat, and were very apologetic that the, usually free, Wifi was down while we were there.

The building is attractive and immaculately maintained with the bathroom spotless. It may not be the last word in luxury, but as a cheap and cheerful motel, it's a really great find. The pool is in the centre of the plot and is surrounded by trees affording some privacy. This too, was immaculate, though the water was very cold which may explain why it was also empty - still made for a great morning swim before a big drive.

The only issue we encountered was that the hotel were struggling with their email system so I had to phone from the UK to make the booking, but I'm definitely glad I bothered. If you're looking for a clean and peaceful place to rest your head, El Rancho is all you need.
