We spent a week in this hotel and enjoyed every minute, ok with temperatures in the 30's and coming from the cold of England why wouldn't we.
The staff were very attentive and allowed me to converse with them in my poor French even though most of them spoke very good English.
The bedrooms are fine but the pillows on our bed were definitely not three star quality. We upgraded from a basic room and felt the larger room made our stay more comfortable.
This part of Provence has some lovely hills for walking in and with the aid of a detailed map and the good path signage we found navigation easy and the countryside is stunning.
After five hours in the hills returning to the hotel and being able to relax by the pool capped perfect days.
The only dissappointment we had was the lack of good restaurants in the village there is no restaurant in the hotel although the owners do run one in a neighboring village.
If you are planning to visit Provence this hotel is definitely worth considering.

What a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the wonders of Provence. We spent three wonderful days here - the rushing waters provided an cool oasis in the midst of a heat wave that even kept us from the pool. the staff was very instrumental in showing us where to go visit the surrounding beautiful villages every day. The week was topped off by enjoying a wonderful dinner at the owners restaurant in Isle sur la sourge. If your heading to Provence, whatever you do, don,t miss this beautiful spot.

It was our first trip to Provence, and now that we've driven around a bit, I think we were incredibly lucky to have stayed here. The town is so small that although it is very touristy, there isn't enough room for many of them. Add to that the hotel having a branch of the river running right through it so that we could sleep all night with the sound of the water. The staff are amazing, they really made our visit better in every way.

We have just had 3 wonderful days in Fontaine de Vaucluse staying at Hotel du Poete. This hotel is amazing value for its apparent 3 stars. We believe it deserves a much higher rating. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating making out visit incredibly easy. The hotel facilities were very good. The pool and jacuzzi along side the roaring cascade of the Sorgue River were added bonuses. Whilst lazing by the pool you can look up at the ancient Bishop's 13th Century Palace on the hilltop and only wonder what it must have been like in France in medieval times. Hotel du Poete is very quiet (apart from the roaring of the cascades as they pass under and around the hotel) and yet a 2 minute walk to the town centre for access to the Spring, restaurants and shops.

Fontaine de Vaucluse is a MUST VISIT for anyone visiting this part of the world. It is a magical place - especially at this time of the year with the winter melt producing such great volumes of water to flow from the incredibly deep spring, the source of the Sorgue which flows through the town, and before the hordes of summer visitors crowd the small town.

Another 5 star experience on our travels!

This hotel was on the 5th leg of our 6-week self drive European vacation. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it tremendously. The whole setting was peaceful and calming, right along the river. Our room was quiet and pleasant with everything we needed. The staff was wonderful, especially our many conversations with Jerome. It was a central base to visit other hill towns in the area as well as Avignon and Pont du Gare. We were totally enthralled with the whole area. Very memorable and "Bonjour, Jerome!"

We have have been to Provence and especially Fontaine de Vaucluse many times but found this hotel perfect - it was very comfortable, very clean with great decor. We can highly recommend this hotel as a good location to visit neighbouring villages and places of beauty. Staff were extremely warm and helpful. The breakfast was a little pricey but varied and delicious. The freshly made juices as well as natural yoghurt, cheeses and hams gave a great selection to the usual pastries breads and fruits. Will definitely stay in this lovely hotel again. Just one suggestion - it would be good to have a bottle of mineral water provided every day in the room instead of having to pay for it in the fridge.

I have been to the village a couple of times in my life and wanted to show it my partner on our way to move to Hungary. The hotel was absolutely wonderful! Friendly welcome and very professional approach to us as clients. The settings are gorgeous, on the sourge, which is the whole point of the village, lovely and clean rooms and I would go back any time possible. We loved it!
