Description: La Figuiere, proposes in summer to come to lunch on its large terrace shaded and in the calm of the tumult of the crowd. Our chef proposes a provencal and contemporary cuisine, elaborated on the spot from fresh products. Our restaurant does not offer to its clientele products frozen or vacuum kitchens. Every dish is cooked with care on request so you have to be patient because the good cooking is waiting. When the nice season is over and the days are colder, we will also welcome you with pleasure in one of our 2 As in any good restaurant, it is better to reserve your table

This is a very lovely place and most certainly recommendable. A cosy little restaurant in a side street (one of the few in the village) we were seated outside under a fig tree - hence the restaurant name. The food was extremely good, and in fact hard to chose from the menu due to the lush offers. It was cosy, quiet and the service was excellent (I would however recommend the lady waitress to loosen up a bit - came across way too grumpy!) and price wise way below my expectations so all very good.

My husband, myself and good friend, Finn, found this restaurant by a sign out front. It was late and we were afraid because of all of our touring of that morning, we would miss lunch. We walked through a small alley/street and came upon a beautiful outdoor patio with Fig trees gracing the tables. We decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful day. The restaurant was full outside with people leisurely eating their lunch. The waitress who appeared to speak very little English gave us our menus and luckily our friend was able to speak to her in French otherwise, I am afraid it would have been pointing to the menu and what we wanted to eat. There were so many wonderful things on the menu that it was very hard to choose what we wanted. We ended up getting huge salads that were delicious and quite filling. We also ordered a bottle of wine and settled in for an hour of a wonderful lunch in the most beautiful space. They are noted for their truffle salads which our friend had. He said it was delicious. I would recommend going here again should we ever get back to Fontaine de Vaucluse.

We recently visited this restaurant 2 nights in a row.
The first night, we were still enchanted by the beautiful setting, not so much by the very rude and unfriendly female waiter (owner?). We had the Aubergine Caviar and Foie Gras as appetizer. Both were nicely presented; however very heavy and we only finished half of the dish. As a main, we had the Steak and Cod; again nicely presented and good tasting. Next came the choice of a cheese platter (3 little pieces), followed by dessert: ice cream and lavender creme brulee. This choice menu costs Euro 33/person. Bread is served throughout the night.
The next night, we were looking forward to visiting the number 1 in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. However, unfortunately, the restaurant had its closing day (Wednesday) and we decided to give La Figuiere another try.
This time, we were pleasantly welcomed and attended to by 2 friendly male waiters and a delightful young female waiter. What a relieve not to have to look at the grumpy face of the day before!
We wanted to take things a bit lighter this time: we still opted for the Euro 33 menu, however we choose salad as an appetizer. Very nicely presented and large dish! After some bites, I discovered a hair in the salad. I looked a lot more closely at what I was eating and then saw something crawling between the leaves: a small green worm. I again did not finish the appetizer and appetite was gone for the night.
We will not return because of the unfriendly and unwelcoming service of the female waiter and of course because of the unpleasant surprises in the salad.
