Got a suite for a weekend shopping excursion to anchorage. The price was right and the suite was comfy. New flat screen TVs in both rooms. (There was a pullout sofa-bed in the entryway area which closed off to be its own room.) The decor and color scheme was dated...but hey, it was clean, warm, and a fine weekend spot to crash.

We had to book a "last minute" room through a "sister" hotel, so we had no choice really, didn't check any reviews beforehand, so we were pleasantly surprised to have a large comfortable suite at this hotel. It was clean, not modernly decorated, but very comfortable with all the needs you require. No smells in our room (and I am extremely sensitive to smoke and muffy smells). The breakfast was not good and is served in a small "cubicle", nowhere to sit, and no filter coffee. The lady managing the breakfast was extremely nice though. The reception staff was very friendly. Location is excellent, we could walk anywhere in downtown Anchorage. The airport shuttle was very convenient, we didn't wait long for him to arrive and he was very friendly. We stayed one night only and can recommend it pricewise.

Room Tip: rooms with balcony will be nice.

Great little hotel in downtown Anchorage, most sights are well within walking distance. The staff was helpful, the rooms were large, the beds were outstanding and the continental breakfast was adequate. This was the 2nd time that we have stayed at this facility and were more than satisfied on both occasions with our selection. however, we were informed that the Captain Cook Inn, which is directly across the street, has purchased the Voyager, which will probably mean upscaling the decor and the prices.

The location is very convenient, just downtown. The room was large and comfortable, although had a slight stale smell. Brakfast was very basic, and since there is no breakfast room we had to take the trays to eat in our room. Really I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. However we had the impression that most of the staff didn't seem to like their job very much. They rarely smiled and they didn't offer much assistance or info until they were specifically asked for.

We took the scenic route to Anchorage on the Alaska Railroad and because of that we had to take a cab to the hotel as there is no shuttle from the train station so I thought that would be a bad sign but I was very wrong. It was a nice clean hotel in the middle of downtown Anchorage and we had a nice sized comfortable room. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and accomodating even after we checked out and had to sit around for a while waiting for our ride which was a little late in coming. At the end of one day I even stayed up for a little while and watched some tv which I never do when on vacation but I was just very comfortable in the room. (Just as a silly little aside I just noticed yesterday that we still have our complimentary postcards that we were encouraged to take while we were waiting for out ride.) Overall I encourage anyone who goes to Anchorage to try the Voyager. They will not be disappointed.
