The Hotel Captain Cook has always done a phenomenal job of hosting conferences and family stays. The accommodations are first class, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the theme of the Hotel is fascinating.

Room Tip: The suites are so nice to have a living room area for relaxing.

Dear Kathy G,

Thank you for staying at The Hotel Captain Cook. We appreciate your kind review and we're pleased to see that you enjoyed your time here while attending the conference. Living in Glennallen must be amazing. I love the drive to Valdez and to Paxson for Arctic Man with the mountains in the back drop being exceptionally brilliant. Whenever your back in town and you need a place to stay, we'd be honored to take care of you again.

Sincerely,
Hunter R. W. Edelen

This hotel was great and a throw back. It is old school and they have kept the rooms up w/ all modern amenities - except keys - they give you a real key which was cool. The room had a great view of the water and the concierge lounge was very nice. The service was amazing and the hotel gym is actually a health club, so it has pretty much everything you need. It is a perfect hotel for business.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor for a view.

Hotel is counded by busy roads. On our June trip, we had to open the windows due to the warm temperatures. Noise from the road was much too loud to sleep. Even with the windows closed, it was fairly loud. Everything else was good quality but a hotel is first and foremost a place to sleep and you can't easily do that here. (All rooms border busy roads so changing rooms doesn't help.)

Dear rosied8181,

Thank you for staying at The Hotel Captain Cook. We appreciate your review and I apologize that you didn't have a good nights sleep. Location, location, location is always how a business survives and we are fortunate enough to be right in the heart of downtown Anchorage where all
the restaurants and traveler attractions are located. In the summer it can get noisy with the sun never setting and the people still exploring into the a.m. hours. I wish we could have sent you back home feeling refreshed and energized. We do have rooms that are located on the interior walls which provide a quieter stay resulting from less road noise. We'd love to see you again and I hope your travels bring you to amazing places in the future.

Sincerely,
Hunter R. W. Edelene

We spent two nights here and everything was fine. We had no complaints whatsoever. I cannot say it was memorable or outstanding, just very good. And that is good enough for me, since we were out and about and spent little time there.

The staff was awesome. True service oriented. Food was good. Rooms were clean. Public restrooms were a bit hard to find from the conference area but spic and span when you find them. Will definitely stay again.

For the past couple years I attend a conference in Anchorage. While we are there we always try to stay at the Captain Cook. The food was great and the service was great. This time we were put in a corner room that had a great view of the water. The only down side to the hotel is that there are three towers and if you are in tower 2 or 3 the women can get to the entrance to the spa from the basement level. The men have to go through the lobby to tower 1 to get to the mens spa.

Room Tip: I always ask for a king size bed and end up getting one with a great room.
