Arrived late (after 10pm) from the Seward train to be greeted by Scott (son of owners) who was welcoming and showed us to our 2 rooms. Breakfast made by his wife was very good and she was friendly. Felt uncomfortable by owners Terry and Sandy--like we were unwelcome guests and that they couldn't wait for us to leave. They did not engage us in any conversation and we just felt odd. We checked out promptly at 11am after being there barely 12 hours (and paid a good amount of money for the 2 rooms). We left our bags all day because we had an evening flight back home. No problem with picking up the bags and it was nice that they kept them secure for us during the day.

Not hospitable is a sad title for your review since Scott was up to meet you at 10 pm, Yuya was up to fix breakfast for you at 6:30 am which you recognized as great service! Unfortunately, what appeared to you, during breakfast, as an unwillingness to visit was Terry and Sandy rushing to a much needed exercise class.

Sandy has worked many years as a docent at the museum in order to have as much information as possible about Alaska's history, geography, natives, and tourist destinations,

My wife and I stayed in this B&B for three nights, in early July. Start of our wonderful trip in Alaska for 20 days.
Ideal location to reach downtown Anchorage - 20min walking. Our car stayed almost all the time in the B&B parking place, and have plenty of time visiting Anchorage.
We were warmly welcomed by Scott who assigned us a comfortable and nice room. Wonderful decoration in the house and the atmosphere was very nice and cool.
Breakfast was very good and filled you for the whole day.
Our idea is to go back in Alaska, one day, and we will, for sure, go back in this B&B.
I recommend, as this is a very good choice.

We decided to go to bed and breakfasts during our trip to Alaska, and the Walkabout Town is by far the best one we stayed in. They have great rooms and hot breakfast each morning as well as expert advice for what to see around town. Our next trip will be planned around when we can stay at the Walkabout.

Room Tip: Families should try and get the Piano room

My wife and I stayed here at the end of a wonderful 12 day tour of Alaska. We were warmly welcomed by Sandy who assigned us a comfortable, spacious and clean room. The atmosphere is very homey, and Sandy and Scott were very helpful with advices for shops, restaurants, walking distances, or ordering a cab, when needed. Downtown, REI, Carrs supermarket and many other places are within walking distance, and the place even has some bicycles to be borrowed by guests. Breakfast was tasty and filling, even for heavy eaters like myself.
In summary – when in Anchorage, Walkabout Town B&B is the best choice to stay.

After 30 hours of flying from Israel to Anchorage it was an absolute pleasure to arrive here again. My memories of the first time 2 years ago were confirmed, the moose was still in the drive and the hospitality was every bit as welcoming. thanks to Sandy and Scott for making our stay in Anchorage a real treat. Breakfasts filled us up for the whole day and we all felt very much at home. Highly recommended. By the way returning to Walkabout after a week kayaking in the wilderness was just as satisfying.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Anchorage Walkabout Town B&B. The location was very convenient, the house was clean and quiet, the service was excellent, and the breakfasts were delicious. When we left early in the morning they made "To Go" bags stuffed with breakfast items, with enough to have for lunch or snacks later. Scott & Yuya, Sandy & Terry were gracious hosts and very nice to visit with. We didn't have time to use the bicycles so we will have to save that for next time!! We would definitely stay here again!!
