Anchorage Walkabout Town B&B was just what I was looking for... a B&B within easy walking distance to Downtown, and near the bike paths. I did not want to rent a car, so this location was perfect! The owners, Terry and Sandy, were very hospitable and just all around wonderful folks. They happily went out of their way to offer assistance, provide directions, or give me info on Anchorage from a local's perspective. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying, and the coffee was so nice to wake up to. Their B&B was lovely, clean, quiet, and full of interesting books, pictures, artifacts, knick-knacks, maps, etc. I personally recommend the "Russian Room". One of my favorite features was the sunroom, where the main table can be found, along with comfy chairs, etc. It's a great place to relax and enjoy looking out at the beautiful trees, no matter what the weather is doing. I'm confident you'll love Walkabout Town B&B as much as I did.

I was in Alaska in May 2012 and had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at the Anchorage Walkabout Town B & B. Sandy, Terry and Linda help make the my trip memorable from the conversations at breakfasts to the extras provide (bikes, ride to railroad station and being able to leave out luggage until our late night flight). The breakfast were delicious. The location is just a short ride from the airport (was also greeted by the moose grazing on the grass across the street). Anchorage Walkabout Town is just a short walk to the downtown and you can get on to the bike trail right across the street. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Alaska I would stay and the Anchorage Walkabout Town B & B again. The owners made you feel like welcome guests and made sure you were comfortable.
Sandy, Terry and Linda thank you for making my stay in Alasks special.

This B & B is in the perfect location for those travelers who want to be close to the city but still have quiet and the personal service that one just can't get at a big chain hotel. To welcome us to Anchorage was a moose just across the street! We stayed in a room in the house next door and were the only ones there; but still felt taken care of. The breakfasts were fabulous! If you didn't feel like a big breakfast, there was cereal, toast, danish and the best fruit. It is a good walk in to town, but easy. We highly recommend the Walkabout Town B & B.

We just returned from our fantastic Alaskan vacation. We started and ended our trip in Anchorage at the Walkabout B & B. The accomodations far exceeded our expectations. The beds were so comfortable, the entire house and grounds clean. The breakfasts were amazing and the hosts unforgettable. Terry and Linda sat and talked with us as if we had known them for years and we felt truly comfortable. Thank you for making our experience wonderful and memorable....and for the bikes!!!

We stayed 3 nights in a nice sized room in the upstairs portion of the house. The room was very clean with a private in-room bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable which is really important when you are trying to get used to the long daylight hours. The window shades did a good job of blocking the light out at night. This room is across the hall from the owner's bedroom, which was no big deal to us. From this location, we easily walked to downtown, the train station, and to a near by local trail that follows a creek. The walk downtown and to the train station is about a 10 minute walk, but as another reviewer said, very pleasant and for us, a plus. We were on the go early every day, so we weren't able to experience the breakfast, but they gave us breakfast-to-go bags which was nice and consisted of a variety of things such as apples, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagles, etc. One morning, Terry gave us a ride to the train station which was very nice considering how early it was! All in all, very nice stay. Nice people, nice accommodations, nice location.

Terry, just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our family reunion in Alaska. We started our trip by spending a great few days at your bed and breakfast. It was open, airy, bright and inviting. The kitchen was adequate and usable. The beds were comfortable, which is a big plus for my husband and I. It was very clean and cozy. We have stayed at a few B&B and although they were nice, your place was very much like home. This was an adults only reunion and we all had a great time. I plan on recommending you to any friends who are lucky enough to visit the Anchorage area.

Room Tip: My only tip would be this is a great place for a group to share.
