Very unique info centre, grass roof, lots of things to do. Staff was very helpful. The staff gave us lots of ideas on places to go & things to do.Out side the info building a lady was watering the roof of the building. It had grass on it. The flowers were so beautiful around it I hated to leave, keep up the good work.

Thank you for your feedback on the log cabin information center; we love to see that roof come to life each spring and with the addition of flowers, it really is a beautiful spot in downtown Anchorage. Our volunteers work hard to help visitors find answers to their questions and offer suggestions. We're happy they could help.

We got poor information from the 3 ladies working there, none seemed to know where the post office was and they didn't know where the Native Artists Market was (one block away). The log cabin is cute but there is no information to be had inside.

Our apologies for any problems getting answers from the volunteers regarding the recent closure of the downtown post office, which came on the heels of a closure of the mail station in the 5th Avenue Mall. The closest post office is now in Midtown at two locations, on West Northern Lights Blvd. and on B Street adjacent to Loussac Library. The volunteers may have been a bit confused by the phrase Native Arts Market -- officially, there's only one and it is held during our winter carnival, Fur Rendezvous, at the Dimond Center mall in south Anchorage. There are Native arts stores and crafts people in the 4th Avenue Marketplace, one block away; with a bit more questioning on the part of the volunteers they might have determined that's what you were looking for. Again, our apologies they didn't come up with answers for you.

It's a nice little log cabin building (s), the main one has a grass roof. The staff is pretty knowledgeable, and they will steer you in the right direction, no matter what part of the state you want to go to.
