This was a nice and easy hike. We headed up in the morning and enjoyed the views! The bathrooms were nice and clean too. It was pretty cold, so dress warm.

This is a great day hike. About three hours of good clean fun! The last 100 yards is the hardest but worth it

This is a BEAUTIFUL location to view the many mountains outside of Anchorage, well worth the drive. Great for hikers and photographers.

We arrived close to dusk and felt we did not have enough time to hike to the summit (Flattop Peak) and back in adequate lighting. If you're pressed for time or have limitations that prevent you from hiking the trail, the viewpoint near the parking area provides remarkable views of Anchorage City and the surrounding area. Even though we did not make it to the top, we got lucky and saw a large moose bull sitting below the viewpoint observation area. We would have never seen him from the top summit. There was ample parking, primarily due to the time we visited. Family who reside in Anchorage mentioned that it can get crowded there, especially on the weekends. Restrooms are available. Flattop via Glen Alps is relatively near the city and it does not take long to get there.
