If you come to Alaska in the winter your a different breed so if you go to see the Iditarod and not go for a dog sled ride you are denying your true nature. The view is peculiar to say the least but a team of huskies is a big bucket of love and letting them take you for a ride is a once in a life time event. I am a lifer here born and raised. I will tell you if you are not willing to step out suffera little cold or strenuous exertion you should just stay home. Alaska is not a viewing sport in my book you need to step into it and live it. Rent, borrow or steal a snowmobile and get back country while your here the winter is the hidden secret of Alaska's accessibility. You can literally go anywhere. Well almost anyway. Lol The Iditarod is part of our great states personality we love it so enjoy but I highly recommend you do not try to change a thing about us or you will get a cheechako welcome and kick towards the border.
