“Way to go...”

Very organized, lots of room, employees very hospitable, lovely views, nice to be able to get up and go into the dome-shaped care for a bit. There was even a tour guide on board to answer any questions!

“Superb assistance”

We went on 3 train journeys, 1 on the McKinley explorer to Denali, and 1 to Seward & 1 to Whittier.
The staff were great and very helpful & professional. They look after your every need.

“Railroad”

I loved the railroad station as it's small but takes you back in history. The photos on the wall are cool to see. There is a totem pole nearby.

“What train travel should be like everywhere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

Great crew from the depot to Seward and back the next day. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and hot! No heating up premade stuff, this was the real deal and the view! We sat in the Gold Star (well worth the price) Dome car and rarely sat--the views were too breathtaking and jaw dropping to sit.

On our return to Anchorage from Seward we strolled through all the cars to the back of the train. Wow! Adventure class looked roomy and lots of empty seats so if you wanted to spread out you had loads of space. There was a little bistro car that had upper seating with the same views as the pricier Gold Star (although they do ask you to limit your time if others are waiting).

One of the best experiences of our whole Alaskan adventure!

“Alaskan Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

We'd like to thank Kim from RailsNW for helping us plan such and fantastic Alaskan trip. The whole trip was worry free. We were picked up at the airport brought to our hotel and it just got better after that. One of our favorite parts of the trip was Tundra Wilderness Tour we saw so much wildlife and the guide was so informative it was great. Our tour guide Gabe took care of everything from all tickets to the smallest of details it really was worry free! We also had great bus drivers Greg was a walking encyclopedia about Alaska. Kim you are great at your job you listened to what we wanted and it was the most wonderful trip. We would recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Alaska. They think of everything!
Thank-you all for a trip of a lifetime!!
