“A real Japanese sushi chef with most of the patrons sushi veterans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Almost every sushi chef is a sorta trained Korean. Not here! A true chef from Japan, where training is a demanding ten years long. You will appreciate the differences. Let him guide you to that days best choices.

“Hit and miss...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

VERY nice chef...we walked in at 930pm and he was really nice and really made us feel welcome despite walking in late on a Tuesday night.
The food was for the most part good, the ramen noodle bowl we had was excellent (miso-ramen?)
and the shrimp tempura roll and yellowtail sushi were very good.

“Very Authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

This palce has been here for as long as I can remember, you often ses Japanese visitors here so. they must be doing somthing right. Now in my opinion if you want sushi, of which we in Anchorage are blessed with world class. Go else where, where this place shines is the other foods, Udon, Yakisoba etc.

“Great Food - Warm Hand Towels!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

We decided to try this place between movies during the Anchorage International Film Festival. By the time we walked from the Experience Theatre to Kumagoro in mid-December, we were a bit frosty. I can honestly say they had me at the Warm Hand Towels! The food was really good, also. So much so, that we went back the next night!
