Our hotel manager recommended S&S's a the place for a special occasion dinner. Finding the place was a cinch; finding a place to park was a real issue. They need a sign outside that indicates that validated parking is available just a block and a half from the establishment. I ended up driving around the block three times and then parked three blocks away on a residential street.

This is Alaska so don't expect a bargain. The service was prompt, friendly and imformative. The atmosphere of the room was classy rustic with great open Alaska views. We started with the crab dip which was very good. We split the main course which was crab stuffed Halibut, this was delicious.
The drinks were very expensive. Suggest you check the menu before you order and certainly do not leave it up to your server. It was a nice glass of Cab; but $16 ???

We had reservations for 7:15pm and were seated somewhat promptly.

The table we were seated at was right at the entryway to the dining room and near the kitchen counter, so we were in the middle of heavy traffic of waiters and bus persons. Not the ideal seating considering the price of the meals. I believe the management of this restaurant need to re-arrange the seating so that it is a pleasant experience for their patrons.

The food was very tasty, freshly prepared and beautifully presented and with the right portions.

We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, it was good but I've had better.

Our entrees for the four of us were: the grilled prawns, the scallops, the etouffee and the prime rib. All were very flavorful and we were all happy with the meals.

The bread pudding and the keylime pie were awesome desserts to conclude a great dinner.

I most certainly recommend this place and I definitely will go back the next time I'm in Anchorage and I will make sure to ask for a better seating.

Simons has lost its appeal...poor service and the crab cakes must have been dropped in the salt barrel overnight. Won't spend another cent or second in that establishment again! Too bad because it once was THE place to go in Anchorage.

Not great, but decent food and service considering it was a very busy Saturday night on solstice and marathon weekend. We were a party of 6 and were handled fairly efficiently. Half of us ordered the halibut cheeks; I guess they were okay since I'd never had them before and had no idea what "good" cheeks are. Small portions but everything was tasty.

Classy restaurant with most customers wearing button down shirts and slacks. Even though it was more upscale, the pricing was very reasonable. Smoked salmon and stuffed halibut. Unfortunately, the restaurant is in an office building so it is a little hard to find.
