“Fresh Fresh Fresh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2012

Fresh food fast is what you'll find here. $8 for a sandwich makes me cringe just a little, though. And the pickle spear was soggy with tough skin - kind of weird.

“Fresh slice of home”

Amazing breads and sandwiches. This is the place to go to for a hearty fresh sandwich or fresh zucchini bread.

“An oasis in busy south Anchorage...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2011

I happened upon this bakery/sandwich/coffee place while doing some shopping. It is located in a strip shopping center, just north of the intersection of Dimond Blvd. and Old Seward Highway. This business is close to Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, and the rest of the shopping madness in the area. It is a wonderful place to stop, rest and load up on some fresh-baked bread to take with you!
Pro's: Tasty food; large selection of fresh baked bread (my sourdough loaf was huge- weighed about 2 lbs.)- a schedule is available, as some of the specialty bread is not baked every day; other fresh-baked goodies are available, including rolls, cookies, quick breads, scones, muffins, granola, croutons and energy bars; nice staff; owners of this small franchise live in Anchorage, and are involved in the community.
Con's: a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area; a bit pricey- but what isn't in Alaska!

I did not try the soups, salads and sandwiches on the menu, so I cannot comment on those offerings- but from observing other patrons' plates, they sure did look good. It just goes to show you that downtown is not the only place to go in Anchorage to get amazing fresh-baked goodies!
