Owner description: A collection of cultural anthropology objects, paintings, maps, rare books, Alaska gold rush era objects, early Alaska banking materials and contemporary art brought together by National Bank of Alaska. The collection of over 6000 pieces and 3500 books is remarkable in its continuing connection to Alaska's Native and Gold rush era families. Many of the walrus ivory carvings, baleen baskets and grass baskets represent generations of Alaska families. The library is an excellent resource on Alaska's long and rich multi-cultural, geographic and banking history for researchers, students, families and business. Admission is always free.

“Amazing little museum”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Had limited time and after reading reviews on T.A. decided to try it out.... so glad we did.
This museum is packed with it seems, the best of the best of Alaskan art, books, guns,
pottery, painitings etc.
I will only take 1 1/2 hours at most to see what they offer.
Well worth the trip, and it’s centrally located.

“Nice collection”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Nice collection of mostly native artifacts. Very much a surprise. In the same building as the Wells Fargo branch at Northern Lights and C Street. Worth stopping by.

“great for a free museum”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

it's not close to downtown, but it's worth going to if you have a free hour or two. It's small but the items in the museum are interesting.

“Great place to visit”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

A small but very interesting museum. Visited there close to their closing time but the gentleman in charge (Tom) kept it open until we were finished. Certainly worth a visit.

“Surprised and Impressed”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Seems an unlikely place to find such an informative and excellent display of native peoples artifacts and information. Spent more time here than we expected exploring all the displays.
