If you are planning a trip or stop in Anchorage, make sure to carve out some time to do the Flattop Mountain Hike. The hike was a little challenging but the scenery was fantastic. We also got a glimpse of a bear in the distance so take some binoculars. The guys at Downtown Bicycle Rental were great and gave new meaning to the term "customer service". I wish we would have had more time to ride the coastal trail too.

Peter made sure we got the bikes that were right for us two ladies. He also ensured that we knew our way along the coastal trail and back. And he offered to give us a ride home afterwards as we stayed in the same area he lived at. We came back hungry. He let us hit a Restaurant and picked us up after dinner to give us a lift back to our room. Wonderful, friendly guy going that extra mile towards excellent Service! A pleasure to deal with! Thanks again Peter! We'll surely rent our bikes from you again on any future trip to Anchorage!

This was our second time renting here. They have great hours and a huge selection of rentals. The guys patiently help select the right bike and gear for a great trip down the coastal trail. Parts of the trail can be busy during nice weather and peak season but further out towards Kincaid park you can zip along surrounded by stunning scenery, and a few moose. Be sure to check out earthquake park and if you have time grab a bite at snow city cafe. They have a bike rack out front and are about 5 blocks west of the bike rental place.

Plenty of active tourists spend some time enjoying Anchorage, AL. Few tourists know they can arrange a van shuttle to take a scenic hike at Flat Top Mountain which is near the city and offers great views of the area. The shuttle is based at the Downtown Bicycle Rental shop and in August 2014 was making one round trip per day for tourists without rental cars. The hike is progressive in difficulty with good views at several rest stops. The last 100 feet of elevation rise are more rock climbing than hiking, but a nice challenge for the athletic. Stopping at that last stage is fine for those looking for a good work out in the Alaskan hills without fear of bears lurking on the popular path.

The rental was so easy and the guys at the shop took care of everything. Maps are easy to follow and the bikes were in excellent shape. Price was good and we loved the ride so much. Took the Coastal Trail which was an easy ride but so much to see.
