Definitely worth a 1/2 day or more. LOTS here for many interests. Great intro to Alaska history and native peoples in particular (and the cafe and shop are top notch as well!).

Wow! An amazing museum where we learned more about the different Alaskan native peoples than we could absorb. They have a Smithsonian type of collection. We could have spend days if we had had the time. We actually enjoyed it more than the Native Cultural Center.

The conference we were at had an event at the Museum. I'm so glad we had it there because the museum was more than I expected. Add it to your list.

Could have stayed all day. Many exhibits and a lot of information. Some of the exhibits are interactive and a great place for children.

We spent close to two hours in this museum, and it provides exhibits that portray the people and history of Alaska in a very interesting way. Some of the scrimshaw is astounding, and beaded mittens and wooden ships are especially beautiful. You could devote more time than we did. Restrooms, lockers and a cafeteria are conveniently located on the first floor.
