This sanctuary is the default place to go when visiting Anchorage, Alaska for waterfowl and other wild birds. It is very convenient for a stop off right along the New Seward Highway. Is has an adjacent boardwalk with educational signage and easy access for everybody. Salmon spawn in the drainage creek and there are mammals as well. The background view is the Chugach range.
