I debated whether to stay at the Hyatt House or a downtown hotel. I'm glad I chose to stay here. The Hyatt House offered to drive me to restaurants or to pick up takeout meals to bring back to the hotel. The odd-numbered rooms face a busy roadway but have views of the mountains, which are snow-covered in May. The even-numbered rooms are quieter but have uninteresting views.

Relatively new hotel in Anchorage, from what I understand, and it looked and felt new. Bed was comfortable, staff was friendly and the room was clean and well laid out. Full kitchen with a dishwasher was nice for a three night stay. Allowed me to avoid eating out every night, which was great. Breakfast was good. A step up from standard free breakfast fare, with eggs, potatoes, meat, pancakes/french toast, as well as standard cold items and beverages. I didn't try the omelettes, but they looked good. Free parking was great and I didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

Couple of additional notes:
• The standard rooms don't have tubs, but have very large, tiled walk-in showers.
• In the spring, at least, there are lots of VERY happy seagulls in the little marsh behind the hotel. Happy seagulls talk a lot. Turning the stove exhaust fan on low at night mitigated some of their happy chatter. I understand the front desk also has white noise machines to loan.
• If you miss the first turn off of International (it's a little hard to see), go down C street to the Tudor light, do a U turn and then take a right midway through the block.
• Good choice if you are doing business at UAA. Even in morning traffic, it's only about 15 minutes to the university.

Room Tip: The aforementioned marsh with the gulls is on the side of the hotel opposite C Street.

Great Parking, Awesome Shuttle Service, Convenient Restaurants in Area. Modern furniture, we had a spacious efficiency room with lots of space with kitchen & Restroom necessities. We tried the free soap but got an allergic reaction.

Sorry to hear about the reaction you encountered with the soap, but I am glad it didn't effect your overall stay. Thanks for your feedback.

We stayed here for a mini getway, we live only a few miles down the road. This is a Vegas grade luxurious hotel for a fraction of the price. Breakfast was amazing and staff was excellent. Best place to stay in Anchorage!

We love this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The 1 bedroom room is very big and very clean. The kids loved the pool. I wish there was a hot tub though. A family friendly hotel. We will most definitely stay here again!!
