We chose this hotel because of the convenience to the airport and the complimentary airport shuttle. The hotel clerks were very cordial and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable (I love Hampton beds). The breakfast consisted of more than usual - hot and cold. A business center was conveniently located on the first floor with computer, printer and internet access. A multitude of eating establishments were within walking distance.

Myself and two other co-workers were booked into the Hampton Inn Anchorage by our corporate travel service, when our primary hotel was unavailable. The hotel is very close to the airport (although actually most everything in Anchorage is relatively close to the airport). The front desk staff were very friendly (sincerely friendly) and accommodating. Our rooms were spacious, clean and most importantly, quiet - with guest room doors that do not "slam". The rooms were well-maintained and included a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator in the room.

Nice rooms with a good breakfast in the morning. We had a 10 hour long blackout in the hotel and surrounding area while I was there and the staff did a great job trying to help people who were upset by the loss of power. None of the local hotels had power so you really couldn't do anything about it but the staff tried to help the best they could.

As soon as we had power the staff went about getting everything back online and having some hot coffee available for us coffee folks. This is a better choice than the Hilton Garden Inn since its the same price but you get a breakfast here.

Thank you CommOfficer for reviewing our Hotel. The windstorm that knocked out power to the hotel affected most of Anchorage. Our emergency personnel and utility companies worked around the clock for several days to return power to Anchorage residents and businesses. We at the Hampton were fortunate to have our power restored after several hours. Many residents went several days before seeing their power restored. I am happy to hear that besides the power interruption, you stay with us was a comfortable one. We look forward to your return! Thanks again CommOfficer.

As usual, the Hampton Inn is clean, comfortable and friendly. Meets Hampton Inn typical high standards. Includes continental breakfast, coffee makers in the rooms and available in the lobby. And the shuttle picks up and drops off for train and airport traffic.

My son and I stayed at this hotel two nights while visiting Alaska in July 2012 - the night we flew in and the night before flying back out. I had reserved the hotel through a third party website months in advance and I've had problems with that in the past (arriving at a hotel to a blank look), so I contacted the hotel in advance to be sure they had our two separate reservations. Everyone I spoke with or dealt with in email was very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. And it was the same on our visit - the staff was wonderful!

Both rooms were very nice, with really comfortable beds. We used the pool each time and since we were flying out the morning after our second visit, I was able to use the heat lamp in the bathroom to help get our suits dry for packing, which was nice - we had a LONG trip by plane, so damp suits would have ended up pretty gross.

We ate the hot breakfast after our first night, before heading out to visit the rest of alaska, and it was very nice, with plenty of choices. My ONLY complaint was that it took awhile for the coffee to be re-filled one time. The second time, we had an early flight, so we grabbed the to-go breakfast bags - they were supposed to be ready to go, but we waited quite awhile to get them. One complaint on these - there's no time to drink the bottled water if you're catching a flight - you can't take it through security! So I gave the water bottles to the shuttle bus driver for incoming passengers. But the food was fine and free is always a good price! On food, our first night there, we ate dinner at the Applebee's that shares a parking lot with the hotel and it was okay - nothing spectacular and a bit pricey (welcome to Alaska) - but it was very convenient after a full day of air travel, as it's in the parking lot. There were a couple of other restaurants right across the street, as well. The second night we were there, we requested a take-out/delivery menu from the front desk - they had a huge selection - and just ate in the comfy room!

After 11 days in Alaska and intentionally staying away from a computer, it was great to be able to confirm that our flight hadn't changed and print our boarding passes in the little office on the main level - it was a TIGHT fit, though - had to sqeeze past another patron to get to the second computer - but it was really convenient!

As noted, we used the pool both times, once early in the morning and once in the evening. The pool isn't huge and after accidentally getting some of the water in our mouths, we were super careful to avoid that again - it was almost salty! - but there were showers right next to the pool to get wet before getting in and to rinse off afterward, very convenient. The towels were tiny but we just used several to get dry enough. We could see the gym from the pool - also small but it had several pieces of gym equipment that looked nice.

I got a great deal on the rate through the third-party, but even with the regular rates, this place should stack up well to other hotels in Anchorage, which are really high in price. The rooms were clean and comfortable - and quite large. Also, there's a small fridge and I think there was a microwave(?), plus an in-room coffeemaker. There's a free airport shuttle, which was very quick both times. Breakfast is free, there's an office, I think they have wi-fi if you bring your own laptop or similar, and there's an indoor pool. Oh, and the lobby is very attractive, as well, and they offer FREE parking.

Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel to others.

We had a king bed (Aug 2012) and were happy with it. Nice hotel and nice breakfast section. The breakfast also was very good and had a good variety. And my wife noticed that they don't have the same menu each day. They change it a bit. So good for people who stay more than a night or two. Also near shops and restaurants. Btw, a lot of restaurants are closed on Sundays in Anchorage. So we ended up in the Applebees opposite this hotel on Sunday noon. They also have a airport shuttle which we used since we landed like at around 2 am in the night. And also used the same shuttle to pick up the rental car from airport next day (they were closed when we landed there). Also the E-Z car rental is a mile away from this hotel and they can pick you up from this hotel (in case anybody is interested in taking a rental from them). Helpful staff too.

This hotel is a three-minute drive from the airport. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable and the hotel is overall clean. The only things I could complain about are the satellite TV reception was terrible -- seems to be a theme across Anchorage, and maybe not just a problem unique to the Hampton Inn-- but TV channels would appear and disappear nearly every minute, and the wireless internet signal was not a lot more stable. Also, the tub in our bathroom was in need of a major rehaul, but the rest of the room was modern, clean and cozy. The breakfast being included was a nice perk, though the gluten-free options were limited. We would certainly stay here again.
