Owner description: The Airborne Museum, situated in the square of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, a few miles from D-Day landing beaches, facing the church where John Steele famously was caught, relates the heroic adventure of paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division. Through a spectacular museography, the Airborne Museum takes you through the D-Day alongside American paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division. From the invasion preparations in England through the battles for liberation, meet the Airborne troops and accompany them on their journey to Victory.

“Plenty of WW2 hardware on display.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

In comparison to other museums there is definitely more hardware on display in relation to just information and photo boards. It is a great place to visit (especially since the village featured in many war films).
There is also a well stocked museum shops onsite.

A wide range of real equipment, with informative displays, including a C047 (Dakota) and a Waco glider.

“Not just about paratroopers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012 via mobile

Lots of exhibits inside and out. 20€ for a family of 4 is not bad. Lots of history about the German general. Also interesting exhibits of what the stuff the WW II soldiers have to carry.

“Worth the visit”

Very comprehensive and well done museum for the size of the town. So much history associated with the airborne services and glider pilots.
