Description: The Hillyer family is proud to take the helm of Pike Place Chowder, Seattle’s iconic chowder and a global culinary treasure since its founding in 2003. Located in the heart of Seattle’s Pike Place Market, Pike Place Chowder began with a simple vision: to craft the best chowders using fresh, sustainably sourced seafood and vibrant, farm-to-table ingredients. Many of our fresh produce selections come directly from Pike Place Market, and our rich, creamy chowders feature heavy cream from local dairies in Kent. What started as a cozy 20-seat restaurant quickly grew into a local favorite, with lines of chowder-lovers wrapping around the block. Our flagship restaurant continues to delight visitors with award-winning chowders, seafood rolls, and other fresh favorites. Due to overwhelming popularity, a second location was opened at Pacific Place Center, offering an expanded menu that includes crispy fish n’ chips, golden deep-fried prawns, our famous Chowder Fries, and a daily happy hour!

We walked up with no line by going to the 4th floor of a shopping mall to get to Pikes Place Chowder. I got the fish & chips - seemed extra greasy. Get the New England Chowder. Lives up to the hype.

Be prepared to queue which stretches out the alley to the main street. If you have limited time in Seattle you'd rather skip this and have Boston Chowder instead.

There were 3 of us so we ordered 3 different chowders...the New England style, scallop, and the special of the day... a mixture of seafood. The scallop chowder was the favorite by all three of us! the New England style was also delicious. The lines are long and you have to be quick in getting your seat. Worth the wait in line.

We read about this place on Trip Advisor & decided to give it a shot. It was AMAZING! The line was a little long but it moved quickly. We stood in line for about 30 mins but it was worth the wait!!! Honestly the best chowder I have ever had! We liked it so much, we are thinking of having some shipped to us! It's a must if in Seattle!

So my family came to Seattle and I found this place on Trip Advisor. Out of many restaurants I feel we made the right decision! If you are there during a touristy time it is probably a good idea to get there 30 minutes before it opens to start standing in line, we got there 5 minutes before 11 and we waited about 25-30 minutes. If you got there earlier there would be little to no wait. The chowder is a little expensive, but well worth the money!!!!!! However we ate the lobster roll which was still good- I just would not want to waste space in my tummy when I could have chowder, but the chowder was WAY better and FOR SURE worth it. Everyone who was in line with us and local said the New England chowder was the best. I have to agree after sampling the Mew England, Market Place and Crab and Oyster. The New England was a clear winner! The seating around is public seating, but no saving tables, I didn't see anyone have a problem finding seating. The workers are very diligent about making sure people have seats when it's there turn and also put people in there place if they are cutting in line.
