Looking at the menu, I was unsure. Our table of 4 split several appetizers, then tasted the entrees (prawns, lamb, pork shoulder). Everything I tasted was delicious. Ingredients seemed fresh, and clearly a lot of thought went into the preparation. I'll definitely being going back. Joule is a "hidden gem."

We dined at Joule mid-February. The whole package: decor, food, staff, tables all match. It is a more casual dining experience, eventhough their website states "fine dining". We started with a salad and soup, good and simplistic in flavors, but they worked. We had edamame and shrimp wontons and their "pancake" appetizer. The menu items change regularly, so knowing this, it is hard to suggest something specific. We shared 2 entrees: the shrimp and the ribs.
It was fun to eat inventive food (have you ever had edamame in your wontons?). Most of the menu items are condusive to sharing. Our waiter did not give the best service, but with other tables very close, we witnessed other waiters with much more charisma, knowledge of the menu and intent to make it a great experience. We felt some of the flavors were a bit lacking, but overall, we enjoyed the experience for casual dining. The price points also match their ambiance and food---resonable and fair for what you get. Our bill came to approx. $125 with 4 glasses of wine, before tip.
Trip Advisor won't let me post a half rating, but I would give this restaurant a 3 and a half out of 5. It was between Very Good and Average. I rounded up on the review, as we've only been there once.

The owners/chefs are from New York city and they like you to eat with your fingers! The prawns & whole fish are good. The pasta is great. They make their own cheese and pasta. Yummy!
