“What a Great Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2010

I try to stop at bakeries when I travel for a light breakfast and to test their croissants. This was a wonderful place for coffee and a breakfast sandwich, and to pick up a few croissants and a baguette for later. Their croissants were great - made as croissants should be but seldom are.

“One of the absolute best places in Seattle.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2010

If you pick up a copy of Zagat, you'll find two only two places in Seattle with a rating of 28/30 (and no restaurants that score higher than that). One of these places is Bakery Nouveau, and hands down it earns the score.

Eating here is like eating at a top notch bakery in Paris, but without the language barrier. Everything is top notch and virtually perfect. It's in West Seattle, but that's actually very easy to reach from downtown: If you have a car, drive on over. It's 15 minutes. If you are riding the bus, simply hop on the 54 or 55 on 3rd Ave and ask the driver to tell you to get off "At the Junction". It's a VERY fast bus ride and you'll be here in no time.

“West Seattle Bakery Rocks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2010

Yup, I hardly ever go here because it is so popular. Be prepared to be patient as the lines are so long on weekends. Only once I bought the baguette as a friend said she had to buy one every day (and sitll does). Problem was I ate it all myself. I have never tasted anything that wasn't to die for and of course the wait is worth it.

“Food is excellent, but...”

Some of the best stuff I've ever consumed. BUT, they touch your sandwiches with their bare hands after using the register, touching cash, cards, etc, so I won't be back. I'm sad about it. The croissants are amazing. But proper food handling is important to me, so until they start using gloves, I just can't.
