This review is coming from a pastry snob and a gal who took a year and half off from career in medicine to go to pastry school. There are FAR better pastry shops out there in Seattle. Check out Cafe Besalu, Crumble and Flake, and if you really want the full experience down to the personality, go to Ines Patisserie. For a cafe with a British inspiration head to Greenwood neighborhood and pop into Coyle's Bakeshop and try Chef Rachael's cretzels and cardamom pastries.

Bakery Nouveau makes amazing pastries, sandwiches, and pizza. Their cakes are beautiful and delicious.

I worked across the street until recently and had to drag myself away sometimes. Everything is good. The Twice baked Almond Croissant is my favorite.

Bakery Nouveau has really excellent pastries. If you are looking for an authentic french croissant and just in the mood for puff pastry this is your place. But I also highly recommend the sandwiches, the quiches, and (even though I am not a huge fan of chocolate) the chocolate bread. Chocolate bread has become a tradition of our Thanksgiving just to give you an idea of its yumminess.

Great sandwiches and pastries but the staff can be a little snarky. I go to the location on Capital Hill.
