“Best bakery in Seattle, hands down”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

I stop by Bakery Nouveau Capitol Hill every week after a long walk across Capitol Hill. The Capitol Hill outlet is even better than the West Seattle Bakery. Try their sandwiches, pastry, and be sure to get a loaf of bread to go. Incredible. They make some of the best baked good in the world. Do not miss a visit.

“Wonderful coffee and goodies”

Best pastries and coffee in West Seattle. Wonderful breads too. Try their Oat Date bread. You won't be able to eat just one slice!

“Worth the wait”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

Expect a line most any time of day, but it is worth the wait. There is very limited seating which is both a risk and an an opportunity to make new friends. Most convenient solo or with one if you plan to eat in. Maybe plan to take out and enjoy on Alki a Beach on in front of the fire at home.

“So many fabulous choices must return to try each one”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013

Heard so many great things about this bakery. A local gem not a national chain. It is located in West Seattle, not exactly easy to get to. It is worth the drve. We stopped in on a Friday morning after the Thankgiving holiday. The place was packed.

We were told the almond croissants are to die for. When we arrived before 9:00 am, they only had 2 left in the case. They turned out to be wonderfully rich and tasty. Lots of almonds and powder sugar, topping the flaky croissant with a rich layer of custard. Almost too much to finish the whole thing.

Also got the chocolate croissant, which is more traditional. Very airy and flaky, lots of chocolate chunks. We see they have many other baked goods and desserts. We will definitely return to try them all.

“so good it's dangerous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

There is nothing, absolutely nothing from Bakery Nouveau that we don't love. Pain au chocolat where the chocolates are not just in center but in the layers of pastry; cinammon rolls light with just the right amount of spice, not too sweet; pumpkin cheesecake; raspberry layered cake with some kind of crunchy coconutty crust. All delicious.
