“Excellent Downtown Hotel”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

Great downtown location, very cool "historic" decor. The Polar bar is very classic and inviting. Rooms are relatively large and have all the ammenities. Close to the Waterfront, Museums, restaurants and bars.

It appears that other reviewers have forgotten that Trip Advisor is a travel site, not an architecture or historic preservation site. This property is OK, but service is spotty and breakfast service is especially weak. The fitness center is unacceptably small and is located in a small room with no windows in a lower lever only served by only one of the two elevators. Location is good – a block away from the Pioneer Square Transit (light rail and bus) Station, close to Pioneer Square, reasonable walk to the stadiums and the waterfront. Not far to the Amtrak station, but probably too far to walk with luggage.
Regarding the architecture and historic preservation aspect, this is outstanding. The building is a historic property and the renovation is well done. Rooms are nicely appointed with distinctive furnishings and decorations and include a small safe. Because the building is old, the ceilings are high, which improves the rooms. A/C worked fine. Lobby bar is especially well done and the bar tender is great. Has a renovated ballroom, which also looks great and is probably a great place for a wedding or similar function.
BOTTOM LINE: You’ll need to decide if the historic preservation aspect of this property outweighs the mediocrity of the overall hotel experience. I would not pay a premium for this property.

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at the Arctic Club Seattle - a Doubletree by Hilton. I was disappointed to learn that you did not feel the service you received was what you should have received. We take great pride on delivering exceptional service to each of our guests and I apologize for any issues you may have experienced. I am pleased to say however that we just recently completed a renovation of our fitness center. Although the overall size has not changed, the functionality and decor are dramatically improved and I think you will find this space far more enjoyable should you give us another opportunity to serve you.

We were in town got a mariners game and needed a place to stay downtown. Arctic Club was just about as you could get, even though it was about a mile away.
You get what you pay for. It was a lot more expensive (and thankfully) way nicer than the places our family usually gets when traveling. The hotel was conveniently located for sight seeing and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious.
It was a beautiful place to stay in the city.

This hotel connects the historic side of Seattle with modern day city. We treated ourselves to this luxury stay as a treat for our final day of vacation on the west coast. Seven block walk to Pike's Market was excellent. Room was very comfortable, balcony provided a way to enjoy the city sounds without being in the middle of them. Enjoyed the stay and would do it again!

My boyfriend and I stayed one night in this hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle and I liked it. It was an older historic building with an arctic theme, with lots of low lighting and dark wood, but it was really nice. Everything at this hotel was expensive, but I think the location helped make up for it. This hotel was in easy walking distace from the pier on Puget Sound, the aquarium, the baseball and football stadiums and of course Pike Place market. Our room was large and very clean, nothing to rave about, but comfortable. The bathroom definitely had a 1920-30s feel with lots of little white tiles and a smoky glass office type door. We really enjoyed the bar area off of the lobby. The atmosphere was comfortable and the pool table was fun. I also have to mention that all of the employees including the front desk, bellhops, and bar staff were all very friendly and professional. My one complaint is that parking for one night at the hotel cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $35 which I think is absolutely outrageous when we already paid close to $230 for a room!!!

We spent a couple evening at The Arctic Club Hotel for a wedding in June and it was fantastic (sorry, it's taken a while to get to the review). The lobby of the hotel it very retro but not overdone, very tasteful. The rooms are nice with high ceilings and the bathroom was great! The bedroom was clean and the bed was super comfortable as well.

The food and beverage at the wedding was amazing too! The staff at the reception was friend, funny, and knowledgably.

The bar is nice and really gives off a "throw back" feel of being in the 1940s or 50s.

The location is great as well, a little more south of other downtown boutiques I’ve stayed at which gets you a tiny bit away from the hustle and bustle.

I will return to this hotel in the future for sure!

I really like this place. It started as a men's club of old Klondike prospectors who struck it rich (the few out of the thousands trying!) and returned to Seattle. It has the dark wood and decor of it era, but has been renovated recently. I liked the elegance and the ambiance. The wifi was acceptable for both my computer and my iPhone. I was there on a business trip and the board room where we met was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. I am a Diamond level Hilton Honors member and was on a floor reserved for HHonors members, so I can't say if my room was typical or not, but it was nice. The robe and slippers were much appreciated.
What really made this work for me was the location. We were within walking distance of much of the Seattle sites I wanted to get to, plus the Ferry Terminal was just a couple of blocks away, so I could get out to the islands.
