The Argosy Lakes cruise was very different from the Harbor cruise. The Lakes cruise was 2 hours, takes off from Lake Union, and was a much smaller-scale cruise. Our narrator was very good, having gown up on the lakes, and it made it really enjoyable to hear her personal anecdotes, as well as the information about the sights. At a certain point, the cruise just became trolling around what could have been any lake in the US, but the parts that were Seattle-specific, like Bill Gates' house, or the U of W, were very interesting.

We really enjoyed this cruise. The guide was very informative and we learned a lot about Seattle and saw a lot of things. The CityPass is a great way to go.

Recently went on a cruise with Argosy as a chaperone for a HS. senior trip. The service by those that were on the boat was great but.... We were supposed to have food set up for everyone to eat thoughout the night and then serve us bkfst later. No food was waiting for us. The crew had to go around to the other boats and get what they could, which was a random mix of snack foods, not the bagels, croissants etc. as promised. There wasn't any bkfst at all. The beverage bar seemed ok, although they had to use a can of whipping cream for the coffee when the cream (1/2 & 1/2) ran out. We tried calling the person in charge and was unable to get ahold of them. A very frustrating and disappointing experience regarding the food but everything else was fine.

The choir was a high school girls group wearing red t-shirts, not a formal experienced choir. Also, the choir was upstairs and all the seats were already taken so it was just like listening to a CD for the rest of us.

The “meals” are dry sandwiches and potato chips. There is one line for the meal, and another for the drink (with no free refills). The food is way overpriced and not worth it. There were no tables either.

The chairs were old, uncomfortable and really close together. There were window seats, but you had to turn and around and sit awkwardly to actually look out the window. Half way through the cruise all the windows fogged up and you were pretty much just sitting on a big boat with a whole bunch of screaming kids. The top of the boat is not covered, so if it raining you are stuck inside.

Overall we were very disappointed with the experience. For the price we paid I was expecting it to be romantic, formal, have a nice view and well suited for the weather. If you want to see Seattle from the water I would recommend a regular ferry ride during the summer.
