The Black Bottle is very popular with the late night hipster crowd. Patrons spill outside on warm summer nights, where they can enjoy wines on tap by the carafe, ample portions (try the chicken Masala), and music more familiar to a younger crowd. This is a great restaurant to top off a game at Safeco Field.

We obviously aren't the typical Black Bottle crowd, meaning not stereotypical hipster, but we enjoy good food in a good atmosphere and sought out Black Bottle based on the reviews. The food was very good - but it was laced with pompousness that left a nasty taste with every bite and forced us out as quickly as possible. So disappointing that the food was ruined by the atmosphere.

We had a great evening at Black Bottle. Lucky for us, a window table opened up as we arrived, so we had a cozy corner from which to watch the restaurant and the street. Friendly, capable service. Fantastic food with very interesting flavors. Get the broccoli!

Black Bottle is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. Sure parking can be a challenge and sometimes there's a wait but for their great wine selection and their oh so yummy blasted broccoli, I think it's worth it. Their blasted broccoli can bring a smile to even the vegetable haters out there - it's so deliciously good and the plate is huge so you can eat your heart out! Crispy, warm, and lightly seasoned, just how I like my veggies. They also have tons of other tapas style small bites (flatbreads are yummy), vegetarian options, and desserts, but to be honest, I'm just enamored by the broccoli!

Bottom line, whether it's a group dinner or a special date, Black Bottle is a fun little wine bar that is sure to leave you with a smile.

First of all, though I have nothing against the Seattle hipster, this must be the central hub for that crowd in this area. We arrived in an empty bar right before happy hour. Within an hour, the place was overrun with hipsters in their ubiquitous uniforms. Notwithstanding the hipster infestation, the drinks were excellent. We ordered a couple of interesting fusion-esque starters that were less than impressive. And the service was decent, slipping towards inattentive near the end. But because of the large crowd, we didn't hold the failure to see our server in roughly thirty minutes against her. She was friendly, professional, and served up some great adult beverages. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to pop in to the Black Bottle for a drink. I would just recommend finding another place to eat.
