The staff is amazing. They offer you wine, cookies, etc. when you check-in. They also did nice things like leaving a personalized Thank You card and turned on the music in our room before we got there. The location was urban, which is perfect if you want to be downtown. It was only 2 blocks to Pike Place Market and a short car ride to everything else. The room itself was a bit small and somewhat dated, but it had fun decor and was cozy. I am very happy we chose to stay here.

Stopped for one night (unfortunately as we would have stayed longer if we weren't traveling around the Washington area). A personalised welcome with chocolate chip cookies! Amazing room with a comfortable bed and lounge seating area, music, and tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom was clean with fantastic bath shower and all possible toiletteries. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and extremely efficient with check-in and check-out. Location is great too. We will definitely return and would highly recommend this hotel. 10+ out of 10!

We visited the Inn at El Gaucho overnight on 24 Aug 17 prior to boarding our cruise ship. We received an amazing welcome from David, together with a hand-written welcome note in the room as well as cookies! The room itself was quirky, very spacious and included comfortable leather sofas, a big bed (loads of pillows) together with a minibar and coffee-making facilities. The location in Belltown was ideal, very central and within walking distance of the waterfront piers and Pike Market. The hotel offered a "happy hour" which included snacks and wine in the comfort of the leather armchairs in the lobby. David drove us to the port the following morning, which saved us getting a taxi. Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again, although it was quite expensive.

We stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise. The location of this hotel is perfect - walkable to Pikes Place Market, Space Needle and many other attractions, restaurants, bars. Just 2 blocks from the waterfront, we had a water view from our room - #16. As stated in previous reviews, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated but it was clean. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Cozy common area with a fireplace, complementary wine in the afternoon and coffee in the morning. We did not try the restaurant downstairs, but the menu looked wonderful. This is a small boutique type of hotel, which is exactly the type that we prefer to stay at. I cannot say a negative thing about El Gaucho, and when I get back to Seattle again I would not stay elsewhere.

This boutique hotel has a great location right near the water and near Pike Place market and all the great places clustered around that. It's a walkable distance to anywhere you are likely to want to go in downtown Seattle. The rooms are spacious, with a sitting section with couch and chair, and a desk alcove with a door to hide it, and an extremely comfortable bed. You could stay very comfortably for several days. There's a great, homey lobby with a fireplace, and an afternoon happy hour with wine and snacks. There's always coffee, tea, and still and sparkling water available. However, the best part is how friendly the staff are, how helpful they are with information, and how welcome they make you feel.

Room Tip: There are rooms with a view of the water, which is very nice.
