Great location in Belltown. Staff was wonderful. Had wine tasting each night. The rooms are very cute and spacious. Room 11 had a Frank Sinatra theme. So cute! Very comfortable bed. The shower was very small, but manageable. Highly recommend!

Warm welcome (except for valet parking guy... he was a little crusty)-- check in smooth-- room was immaculate complete with cookies! Complimentary wine and snacks every day at happy hour provided a great social atmosphere. Major sites are within a short walk. Highly recommend!

This was a great place to stay. David and his team were awesome! Very personable and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the wine and snacks in the evening also. We liked that this place was close to all the attraction, but not crowded with tourist. We also tried both of their restaurants and they were both very good! Some of the best meals we had during our stay. Also thought it was great that they were able to take us to the pier to get on our cruise ship. If we ever decide to come back to Seattle, We will defiantly go back to this place. if any of my friends go to Seattle, I will recommend this place. (in fact, some of our friends did stay here for a night before we went on our cruise, and I know they said they enjoyed their stay as well).

Summary:

We stayed at the Inn for two nights at the end of July prior to an NCL Cruise to Alaska. The stay was wonderful. Clean boutique hotel, very friendly staff, great location.

Kudos:

Whatever they pay Ashely at the front desk it isn't enough. She was a remarkable host, always making our family feel welcomed. Very informative for suggestions on attractions in the area. The hotel is small, so the front desk staff does it all.... greeter, luggage porter, immediate room needs, happy hour, etc.

Ashley was also responsible for a handwritten welcome note and cookies delivered to our room on arrival. It's a personal touch that very few places offer.

My wife and I both felt that the front desk staff were more like wonderful hosts at a B&B than the normal staff you see at a hotel. Again, this personal touch is the absolute highlight of the very fine hotel property.

Briefly:

The lobby, room, bed, and facilities were all clean, in good repair, and comfortable. Most reviews will hit this stuff extensively. Solid 4.5/5 for facilities... as long as you don't need a weight room.

Area:

If you enjoy walking or aren't afraid of Uber this is an awesome location.

I wasn't really looking forward to Seattle but really liked it. Certainly a town for foodies and those that enjoy the arts. (There certainly is a homeless problem and it's not hard to tell that you are in a town that leans very progressive -- but it's still a great visit for all..)

*We had about a 300 yard walk to the NCL Cruise Pier #66. It's all downhill and made for a very easy embarkation (Others lines can be about 1 mile away -- check your pier info).

*We walked the 1.5 miles to a Mariners game. The walk goes through Pike Market and some very nice areas of town. Very walkable during the day and/or night. I walked back with my 14 year old daughter and my wife left early and walked back alone.

*Major shopping area is about a 1/2 mile walk. Most any store you can think of.

*Walk down to the waterfront and turn right for a wonderful paved walking/running trail. I did a nice 5 mile jog on this scenic route one morning. It was so good the whole family did it the next day. Same area has a separate bike trail. This certainly made up for the lack of a fitness center. It's a few hundred yards to get to the trail but this is clearly the best running option in the area.

We also enjoyed a trip back to the old movie theater days at Cinerama (.5 mile), an Uber trip to a flagship REI store (maybe 1.5 miles from the hotel), etc.

Again, thanks for a wonderful 25th anniversary stay. Well done Ashley and El Gaucho!

We studied the feedback on El Gaucho as we wanted somewhere that felt personal and a warm place to stay at the end of a long 3 weeks road journey into British Columbia and beyond. This place hit the mark in all respects. Quite a quirky place to stay with lounge area and good sized rooms but what really hit the mark with us was the wonderful friendly team they have at the hotel. Nothing is too much and everything is about making your stay special to you. Wine and cakes were on offer in the lounge area each night and this was a great place to meet fellow travellers and talk about the days events or where to visit during your stay. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and a bottle of bubbly was placed into our room to help us start our celebration. If you love fine food do not miss the chance to dine in the restaurant the wine/food and entertainment made this stay a memory that will be with us forever.
