Big boats, little boats - this is the real thing - where the fishermen keep their boats. A real working area - worth the visit.

This is a great place to visit and walk around looking at the fishing and crabbing boats, as well as a few tour and private boats. A sunny day is best, but a stormy day is pretty fun here too.

Fisherman's Terminal is a great place to take the kids to learn about the fishing industry that is so much a part of the history of Seattle. You can wander around on the docks and chat with the boat owners. Most are working boats; it is not the fancy marina. It is sometimes possible to buy fish off the boat, too. If there is no one selling off the boats then there is a great fresh fish market at the terminal. And if you don't want to cook, there is Chinook's, which is a sit-down restaurant and Little Chinook's, which is more of a take-out fish place with more limited seating. The food at both is very good and both are family friendly. Also at the terminal is a memorial to the fallen fishermen which is very moving. The terminal is a special place and off of the tourist trail.
