“Must see!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2009

We took the ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle and had an amazing view. It was the hottest week on record in Seattle but there was (for the most part) and great, cool breeze while on the ferry. I almost wish we would have made time for another trip or two on the ferry. A great, cheap way to see Seattle.

“Can't miss for tourists, can't avoid for some locals!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2009

My wife and I took a trip to Bainbridge Island on the Washington State Ferries during our recent trip to Seattle. I must say it was really a fascinating study of the culture of the area. We arrived at about 6:15PM to find the 6:30 ferry full (we were traveling by car). This resulted in a 65 minute wait for the next ferry. We weren't the only ones who suffered the same fate. As you can imagine there were dozens of other cars. Most looked like daily commuters used to the situation. Books, computers, cell phones, and newspapers kept them busy as they waited. When the ferry finally arrived our trip was really nice.

It was interesting to drive the car right up on a boat. I noticed that a lot of people waited in their cars as if to say "been there done that". My wife and I got out and enjoyed the nice summer evening on the observation deck. The view was great all around. Once we arrived at Bainbridge Island we quickly realized this was a bedroom community for the well to do and didn't offer much in the way of dining and entertainment compared to what can be found on the other side of the bay. We stopped for a mediocre dinner and caught the ferry back just in time for sunset.

This time, the deck of the ferry was really crowded with people also trying to take in a sunset. The ride was very enjoyable much like the trip over. In all, this was a study of culture with great views of the surrounding area. I would recommend this to any tourist who wants to experience and important part of local culture, or who just wants to get out on the water and explore the area a bit.

“Love it!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2009

At first, we were not sure that we would like to ride the state ferry but once there, we felt amazed!! We love it. It's a big boat so it's safer and steady. We rode this boat to go to Bainbridge island. We got the best view of Seattle and its skyline from the boat.

Highly recommended.

i have used ferries many times to get places. i usually take the seattle to bremerton ferry to get out there and visit my family. it's not only convenient, but on a sunny day you get the most gorgeous views of the city.

“You gotta do this”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2009

Most amazing views of the city. We were lucky to take the ride when it was very sunny in Seatlle which was very unusual for Seatlle. The views truly are breathtaking. We went to Bainbridge island which is a very small town but very cosy. Since it is state, it is very cheap but I would pay alot more money to take this ride. Definetly a must.
