“Charming oasis in the middle of the city!”
Reviewed August 11, 2011

Looking for something to entertain my varied-interest-filled family included a day wandering the streets of Seattle. Came upon this park and spent an enjoyable time listening to the waterfall, people watching & resting our tired feet.

“Great for a Momentary Retreat from the Bustling World Outside”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

Nestled in the midst of Seattle's Pioneer Square, this garden was gifted to the city by the folks at UPS. With lush trees and plantings, plenty of tables and the rushing water of a really big waterfall, the garden is a great way to escape the bustling city. Whether reading the paper or a good book or just passing time in quiet conversation with a close friend, this place was a treat.

“Beautiful oasis in an historic neighborhood”
Reviewed June 11, 2011

The only place I heard anything about the waterfall garden was on trip advisor which seems a shame. No one I talked to in Seattle knew anything about it, but this place is wonderful. It is a beautiful Kannada waterfall right near pioneer square. It is blocked from view mostly by large walls of cement blocks and gates. There are a number of chairs and tables around. Get there early because it does close. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the inside and only saw from the outside.

“Phoenix Should Have a Place Like this”
Reviewed July 11, 2006

One of the more unique public parks in America------at any rate, I've never heard of another park with a man-made waterfall. Waterfall Gardens is in a less-traveled section of Pioneer Square and, as I recall, occupies about a quarter of the block it's on. It's surounded by a tall wall on three sides and an old brick building borders it on the north. As a result, when you're in the park there's a definite feeling of seclusion. Adding to the sense of isolation is the roar of the water------there really is a large volume of water pouring down. It's possible no one would hear you, if you had to yell for help. Pioneer Square has plenty of sketchy-looking characters wandering its streets, and some people no doubt would feel uncomfortable being in such a confined, isolated space under such circumstances. Maybe that's why I didn't see many people in Waterfall Gardens when I was there. Also, you have to wonder if anyone visits a fake waterfall in the winter, when Seattle is deluged nearly every day with rain.

“A Jewel, A Surprise”
Reviewed June 28, 2005

I have lived in Seattle since 1964. The Waterfall Garden has been there since 1977. I just dicovered it June 27, 2005.I went there 4 times in 2 days. What a shock and pleasant surprise. A real gem!! I love it there.
PS The hours are more like 8am to 5pm. I read on this site 4am to 11am. I think that is wrong.
