“Very "cool" library! Must-see!”
Reviewed November 14, 2011

I love visiting central libraries in cities I visit. This library has such a different architecture. It's not the classical library building you have in mind. And I would say, you need to go inside, and since it's a public library, anyone can enter the building and wander inside. You don't have to be a member. An amazing use of space. Librarians and booklovers, you've got to see this.

“very interesting and great views”
Reviewed November 11, 2011

This is free and was most interesting mainly for the architecture. there are amazing , long bright yellow escalator which would interest all ages. the building is all windows in diamond shapes with great views. I personally loved the spiral stacks. you could meander up four floors slowly an they all sloped a little without having to take any actual stairs. Lots of people using the computers. A nice place to sit and read in the rain or do email . probably not good for those prone to falling as the floor slopes. I would go again.

“Amazing and worth the trip”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

This is an amazing building. Be sure to go to the Red floor and check the paper for events. We stumbled on to an interview with Chris Van Allsburg and Sherman Alexie and waited in the stanby line. Worth every moment.

“WOW!”
Reviewed November 1, 2011

The Seattle Public Library's main branch is housed in an amazing building designed by famed architect Rem Koolhaas. The library is a model of efficiency and modern information management and is staffed by the coolest librarians you're likely to meet. Back to the building... it's fun just to browse around all 10 floors of this wild and futuristic place. A must-see.
