You will do well to take this trip early on in your vacation to get a feel for Seattle, the waterfront and the sound. It is a little pricey(around $30 for adults, but not to be missed. It's a little less expensive for children.

Not only was the tour informative, it was also a heck of a lot of fun!! We toured the major sites of downtown, before going out on the lake. Our tour guide made us do the silliest things and we ate it all up, from disco to ka-ching! Definitely worth a visit!

Riding the Duck, or (DUKW) in military terms, is a fun way to see some of Seattle you might not get to normally. The idea seemed a little silly at first, with the music, the quacking whistles and the corny jokes. But guess what -it isn't! It's really cool. Our group loved it. We boarded at the main location, across the street from the Space Needle & EMP. Parking is right next door, but a little steep. Instead go one block further north to the new parking deck, for a much friendlier price. Our host was Captain Dan Tenneile, who was honestly quite funny. The music is played loud enough so as cars in traffic and people on sidewalks can hear it, and interact with it, often dancing along. What a hoot! We did a quick downtown spin, and then headed up to the north end of Lake Union, seeing a fair amount of scenery on the way. When we reached the point of entering the water, Captain Dan asked "Do we want to go in slow? Or go in fast?" Of course everyone says fast. He said "Ok, slow it is!" That's just an example of the humor on board the Duck. I expected the water segment of our trip to be a short five or ten minutes, but it wasn't. We spent about twenty minutes on the lake, even pausing to watch a floatplane take off. I highly recommend this attraction. The kids and the kid in you will love it!

Riding the Ducks was a blast. The "captain" is trained to be a good story-teller, very informative and friendly. The entire time was a great overview of the city and a great time in Lake Union. We were provided a very nice tour with plenty of information. Super! While in the Lake kids were allowed to go up and sit with the "captain" and have their picture taken.

One tip is the be sure to get on the Duck as soon as allowed. When we boarded we could not find two seats together. A manager asked if someone would move so that we could sit together and fortunately a gentleman did.
