We should call it Tax Payer field. Sc**w Safeco. The Safe is an out standing beautiful park. Great views. These days of miserable Mariners performance most games show only 20,000 fans. Buy the cheapest seats available then go to the upper deck and sit in better seats than the ones you bought. Move from the nosebleeds in the upper deck to the lowest seats in the upper (row 10 and up). Behind home plate. Up the baselines. Excellent views

Walk down Occidental Ave. Buy the usual ballpark food at 60% (?) of what it costs inside the park. You can take in any food, but nothing liquid, not even water. However you can bring in an empty bottled and fill it with Seattle water. Seattle water is much safer than commercially bottled. Seattle water is inspected by the City. There is zero independent quality control of bottled water. Also the bottled stuff ends up in the landfill.

The retractable roof is a thing of awesome engineering. Feels like you are entering the Death Star. Dress warm until late June. The roof will shield you from the rain, but not the wind blowing off Elliot Bay. The view of the Bay, City, Mountains from the picnic are on level three is outstanding. Sunset, wow!

Comfortable seats. Even the proletarians' seats have back.

typical commerical packaged food some with good flavor but the local pubs and restaurants around safeco are much better and a better value

Safeco Field is by far one of the most beautiful stadiums in the country. I was born and raised just south of Seattle, so the Mariner's have a place in my heart. Going to the games is so much fun! The concession stands are overpriced, as they are at any major sporting event. But the view of the water from the upper level is just amazing. Be mindful when choosing seats, as the weather is not always warm and the sun does not shine on one side of the stadium during most of the games. There are lovely pieces of artwork throughout the stadium, including a bat chandelier at on of the entryways. If you have a free afternoon during baseball season, stop by and enjoy a game. Also, pay tribute to the most wonderful announcer the world has ever know, Dave Niehaus, by visiting his memorial in the outfield.

We visited Seattle in July and once we jumped off of the train from Vancouver we saw people walking to the ball game.
We decided to enquire about tickets and we were pleasantly surprised by how cheap the tickets were, considering where we were sat.
The beer we normal price for a sporting event. Good stadium with good atmosphere.

We love to go to Mariners' games at least once a summer. We usually (not always) sit in right field "nosebleed" seats and have always been happy with the view. On a sunny day the roof is open, and we feel like we're in heaven. The crowd is respectful and enthusiastic, the video screen activities keep your attention from flagging, and the food selection is nice.
